Welcome, Fr. Raj!
Visiting Missionary July 6-7th
Meet Fr. Bhaskar (RAJ) Chinthamalla, a Salesian mission-ary from Guwahati, India. He is pastor of Our Lady Help of Christians as well as director of the Don Bosco Tech-nical School. The technical school was established to assist with vocational training for the marginalized youth of very poor families in Assam to work in a variety of trades: automotive, electrical, sewing and hospitality. He is also pastor of Mary Help of Christians Parish, which worships in a community chapel. They are in need of a church building that would serve as a worship center for the 455 people that live in the parish. Thank you for welcoming Fr. Raj warmly to St. Ann!
Salesian Missions is headquartered in New Rochelle, NY. The mission of the US based, nonprofit, Catholic organization is to raise funds for international programs that serve youth and families in poor communities around the globe. These programs are run by Salesian missionaries—priests, brothers and sisters, as well as lay people-all dedicated to caring for poor children through-out the world in more than 130 countries, as well as help-ing young people become self-sufficient by learning a trade that will help them gain employment. Fast facts: • More than 3 million youth are helped each year • Programs and services are provided regardless of
race or religion • Salesians work in big cities as well as in remote
corners of the globe forgotten by society • When disaster strikes Salesians are among the first
on the scene with relief supplies, housing and medical care
• The Salesians are regarded as the single largest provider of vocational training in the world.
