➜ A recap from Bauma 2016A big Thank You from all of verope to everyone who

visited our booth this year. Bauma 2016 has been great

for us with many visitors and new opportunities.

We would like to take the time to do a short recap, show

you some behind-the-scenes material of what we did at

our booth and talk about the future of verope.

Be sure to view our after-Bauma-video,

showing some impressions into our

Bauma booth. http://verope.com/en/

This Bauma marked a new chapter in the progress and

development of verope. Not only is verope now present

all over the world but verope is also leading the field

in digital wire rope services with the launch of verope

connect. It was amazing to see many visitors and

clients download the app on the spot at our booth – and

to get their immediate feedback. It really proved that

verope connect is going to be an amazing and valuable

tool not only for verope but also for all of our customers.

With all the feedback and suggestions we will continue

to develop and innovate in the field of digital services.

You can read more about the currenct functionality of

verope connect in the next chapter.

The fair also presented us with the opportunity to

showcase what new developments verope is working

on and our different areas in the booth reflected that.

We had daily presentations by Dr. Ruffing, Dr. Kohlbe-

cker and Mr. Heber with topics ranging from the

verope R&D Center, verope connect and special wire

rope end-terminations.

Bauma 2016 was a huge success for verope and we

hope to see you again at Bauma 2019!

➜ Behind the scenesMore than 1.000 hours went into planning, designing

and finally executing our booth at the Bauma 2016.

Curious what goes into making our booth at the world’s

largest trade show happen? Here you can see a few

selected images from the process.

➜ About verope connectAs digitization is becoming one of the key determining

factors of service quality, many industries are currently

at the threshold of witnessing one of the biggest chal-

lenges in their history. The launch of the app verope

connect marks the beginning of a new era for rope

services. verope is always looking for different ways to

embed better technology to provide the best service to

its customers. In a world that is constantly changing,

verope connect helps to educate and serve our custo-

mers better. Like all of our services, verope connect will

constantly be improved and built upon in the future.

Key features are

• Simple rope management on your smartphone

• Easy to use QR code features for rope identification

• New ways of measuring and inspecting special wire

ropes

• Rope catalogue and knowledge database /

search by application or data

• Direct contact to our technical

support team.

➜ verope golf sponsorshipverope is proud to announce the successfull participa-

tion of Olivia Cowan for the U.S. Women‘s Open Secti-

onal Qualifier in Europe. verope sponsors this talented

»verope at the Eiffel Tower – a prestigious and technically demanding application.«

➜ The verotower installationThe realization of the rope replacement project for the

Eiffel Tower elevator at the northern pillar required a

detailed inspection followed by a preliminary study of

the existing machinery and reeving system to determine

the verope feasibility to restart with the elevator ropes

in safe condition. One of the major challenges was to

decide and convince SETE of the need to redesign the

complete reeving system

From the review of the reeving system replacement in

addition to all other collected parameters verope de-

veloped the verotower 8, a specific rope design, which

has convinced SETE.

Four verotower 8, nom. dia. 35mm in 440m length,

2x RHOL 2xLHOL were used in the project. With the

technical support from verope AG, the usual installation

process had to undergo deep revision in order to esta-

blish optimal working conditions.

The unwinding condition of the verotower ropes re-

quired to imagine a specific process. The adjustment

of the rope length under load required a specific value

calculation involving the permanent elongation to preset

the initial position of the hydraulic stroke before cutting

and socketing the rope for anchorage to the cabin side.

After unwinding and installation of the four verotower 8

nom. dia. 35 mm – without incident, the test program

took place successfully before restarting with elevator.

The verotower 8 concept/design in combination with

the designated lubrication and the preloading defined

by calculation, demonstrated immediately its ability to

grip to the friction sheaves from the first movement with

empty cabin (weight 15t). The test program supported

with additional water tanks (extra weight + 8.5t = 22.5t

total ) has proven to be satisfactory.

verotower 8 – RHOL + LHOL were subjected to an

electromagnetic inductive control point 0 of reference

at the verope Service Center before commissioning.

The electromagnetic inductive control took place on site

after the installation of verotower 8 ropes was made

on April, 5th 2016 after ≈ 700 cycles – The report con-

cludes :

The verotower 8 ropes 1-2-3-4 are in accordance with

the standard DIN 15020.

At this point in time

• The number of cycles is 3230.

• We expect a performance of around 266 000

cycles during the lifetime.
