There was a research conducted by the New York State aAorney general`s office on the store- brand herbal supplements at four naFonal retailers. The results have found that GNC, Target, Walgreens and Wal-Mart, which are the major retail stores, are selling supplements that do not contain the ingredients shown on their labels. Consequently, they received demand leAers to stop selling these supplements. “ContaminaFon, subsFtuFon and falsely labeling herbal products consFtute decepFve business pracFces and, more importantly, present considerable health risks for consumers,” said the leAers, as reported by the New York Times.
