This month’s edition of NewGen magazine is a bit of a mixed bag. With so much going on in and outside the borough, we thought we’d talk about a few issues that our readers and members would find appealing. With Ramadan on the horizon, many of our readers will be preparing for the month of fasting. We have included a brief overview of what Ramadan entails, how British Muslims deal with fasting in the summer months and how to make the most of it from a spiritual level. The violence in Syria has now escalated and flowed over to Iraq, with additional lives being lost and the world looking on as what started as a civil war now threatens the security of many nations in the Middle East. We look at how Syria and Iraq are used as battlegrounds for extremists and where they have gone astray.TRANSCRIPT
