ITS SUMMER!Thats right everyone, the school year has ended and summer has officially started with that almost three-month

vacation we’ve all longed for after the many sleepless nights we’ve endured attempting to finish homework and

projects because we procrastianted too much. Okay maybe not all of you out there had to experience this, but for

those of you that have, sleep is just about the greatest reward summer has to offer. Yes, summer is a time to relax

and enjoy ourselves, but that shouldn’t mean that Key Club is over. So without further ado, lets take a moment to

reminisce and also take a look at what you can expect in the future.

Hey all! Anthony here. Just wanted to say hello

to all my fellow Hippos! I hope that

summer has started off a BLAST for

everyone! Have some fun in the sun,

and I hope to see everyone at some

events during summer! I have to say,

this month has been quite a crazy

month with May board and AP testing

and finals and all these Key Club

events!

Overall, I feel we’ve had quite a strong

start to the new Key Club year with the

transition from Amanda to me as Lieu-

tenant Governor. I’ve met with many of

the new club officers, and I have got to

say, I’m confident that this year will be

amazing! To those club officers that I

haven’t met with yet, I will be continu-

ing to contact you to settle on a date,

and I will be seeing you soon!

I look forward to meeting everyone, and

I wish everyone a wonderful summer!

Sincreley,

Anthony ToDivision 21 Lieutenant Governor

Miracle Mile of QuartersDespite nearing ever closer to

the end of the school year, the

Hippos remain ever dedicated

in serving and giving back to

their communities. To start off

the new month, Key Clubbers

attended the annual Kiwanis

Miracle Mile of Quarters--a

fundraising event benefitting

Rady’s Children Hospital and

supporting Pediatric Trauma

Prevention (PTP). Key Clubbers

also got the chance to compete

in an art competetion, testing

their creative mettle as fellow

schools battle it out using only

quarters to bring their ideas to

life.

To top it all off, Key Clubbers

were able to enjoy a scrump-

tious breakfast prepared and

served by our very own Kiwanis

after finishing their quarter

artworks.

D21’s “A Very Disney” Banquet June 19th

On the evening of this day,

Division 21 Hippos celebrated

the end of an exciting school

year for Key Club as well as

the beginning of a new year

for those who received the

torch passed on by previous

officers. Both Kiwanians and

Key Clubbers gathered

together at the Island Palms

Hotel in San Diego to enjoy

such an occasion. After

enjoying a delicious dinner

served by the hotel’s

hard-working staff, attendees

sat around their tables as

both Gag Awards and serious

Awards were announced

with their recipients. Sounds of

applause echoed throughout

the banquet room, laughs

were shared, and photo-

graphs were captured. But

everyone was struck with

sorrow in this happy setting as

they acknowledged the

farewells of graduating

seniors and the recent retire-

ments of past officers. Key

Clubbers, Kiwanians, and

special guests were also sad

to see Division 21’s Lieutenant

Governor, Amanda Sani

deliver her final farewell

speech, but they were all

happy to see her head

towards new horizons--the first

step being college. The

wonderful night ended with

dancing and the signing of

yearbooks/inserts and a card.
