Vehicle InspectionRole of the ACE IOA
• Ensure the Supplier’s QA System is validating the vehicles supplied meet all contract requirements
• Ensure through direct vehicle inspection that the Supplier’s QA System is producing vehicles built IAW all contract requirements
• Document, record, and report all findings to the Contracting Officer

• 52.246-2 Inspection of Supplies – Fixed – Price (Aug 1996)
• Applicable Federal Standard
• Minimum base equipment listed in Autochoice

• Inspection to be conducted at source by Government prior to shipment
• 7 workdays (10 Calendar) prior notification requirements
• Contractor shall prepare & distribute inspection documents– GSA Form 308– DD 250

• Cost of re-inspection
• Identify inspection points and applicable item numbers
• Maintain inspection system in accordance with FAR 52.246-2, Inspection of Supplies – Fixed Price

• Maintain an inspection system acceptable to the Government
• Shall tender only vehicles inspected and found to conform to all contract requirements
• Contractor shall prepare records evidencing all inspection made and their outcomes

• Provide facilities and personnel for the safe and convenient performance of inspection by the Government
• Re-inspection charges apply – when vehicle are not ready at the time specified by
the Contractor– When the vehicle was previously rejected

• Contractor /designated inspection point is responsible for ensuring contract compliance.
– Compliant vehicles must meet• Requirements of the Federal Standard• Minimum features/equipment listed in Autochoice• Delivery requirements of the contract• GSA Form 1398 • FMVSS Complete Vehicle Certification

Vehicle Inspection Points
• Shall be identified in the contract by name and address– Only those item number cited in the contract as applicable
may be presented at each inspection point.
• Delegated responsibility for ensuring complete vehicle compliance– Body upfit work as well as chassis

• Assist our Contractors and Suppliers in the continuous improvement of their QA systems
• Validate that the Inspection points QA system ensures contract compliance
• Ensure vehicles meet our customer agencies needs and expectations– High quality and defect free– Meet requirements of the Fed Std and MVDO– Shipped on time
