TRANSCRIPT
Cathy Woolard has served as Atlanta City Council President and the District 6 representative on the Atlanta City Council. For the past 25 years, Cathy has helped organizations build their membership, grow their political clout, and achieve their goals through strategic planning, community mobilization and advocacy. As former City Council President, Cathy was an early champion of the Atlanta Beltline. She worked with Ryan Gravel, creator of the Beltline concept, to educate and mobilize citizens across Atlanta to support the redevelopment of the city’s 22-mile loop of largely unused railroad corridors into an integrated system of trails, transit, and green space. The daughter of a career Air Force Officer, Cathy grew up on bases all over the world. She was educated in public schools, graduated from University of Georgia and settled with her family here in Atlanta after a few years in Washington.
