Volunteer Host FamiliesWhether you have children or not or are single, parents are needed to

provide food, a bed and a loving home for the coming school year, one or two semesters, starting in August. EMF students have medical insurance, spending money for their personal expenses and expect to

share their host family’s daily life including household responsibilities. They speak English, are well-screened and eager to experience life in America. Their stay here is sponsored and supervised by EMF

(Educational Merit Foundation), a non-profit, educational exchange organization. For more information, on EMF students, please call Marie-

Claude Dijoud now at 1-800-467-8363 or visit our website at www.emfusa.org.

Second Collection The Peter’s Pence Collection has ancient roots that reach all the way back to New Testament times. The early Christians provided material support that the disciples—those preaching the Gospel—could distribute to those in need (see Acts 4:34-35, 11:29). June 16, the Peter’s Pence Collection is the way we, as members of the Catholic Church, unite ourselves to the concerns of the Holy

Father. Donations to this collection support the charitable works of Pope Francis for the relief of those most in need.

Cliffview Retreat & Conference Center- “CLOSING”The Catholic Diocese of Lexington has made the decision to close the Cliffview Retreat and Conference Center, effective October 31. The decision to close the Cliffview came after review by a task force of the revenue, operating costs and a variety of other factors. The task force’s next step is to explore possible options for repurposing the

facility, in consultation with a range of stakeholders, including Cliffview management, which has pledged its support.

Cursillo Women’s Weekend

August 1-4, 2019 Cliffview Retreat CenterCursillo is a world-wide lay movement. Members (Cursillistas) are

brought into the movement through a three-day weekend called Cursillos in Christianity (a short course in Christianity). They learn how to live their “4th Day” by cultivating a spirituality based piety, study and action. Cursillistas meet in small groups and community

gatherings (Ultreyas) to assist each other. Cursillistas strive to be a leaven that evangelizes the environments in which they live and work. Cursillo is officially recognized by the Holy See and is supported by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Cursillo is an apostolate of the Diocese of Lexington and serves under the presiding bishop. If you have questions, please contact
