Dr. Keith Clement article "Exploring Agency Policing Models and Response to Domestic Violence" has been accepted for publication in Policing: An International Journal of Police Strategies and Management. It is appear in the journal either June or September 2009.

During a recent visit to Germany, Schweizer gave two presentationAmerican policing, bureaucracy and terrorism. One presentation was to members of the regional chapter of the Police Association and the other to command staff and officers at the Polizeipräsidium (police headquarters) in the city of Karlsruhe, Germany.

Attendees included various officials from uniformed and detective (Kriminalpolizei) divisions, and Hildegard Gereckepolice (Polizeipräsidentin) for the city of Karlsruhe, with responsibility for and sworn staff of more than 2000, serving a population of 700,000. The police agency is a branch of the Baden Württemberg State Police (Landespolizei).

Chief Gerecke is the first female police chief for the Karlsruhe area police and she has been in her post since 1990. Terrorist Attack on Gendarmerie

Members of the Algerian terrorist Group GSPC (Groupe salafiste pour la prédication et le combat-Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat) continued their attacks last week by ambushing members of the Algerian Gendarmerie (national police), resulting in six dead and fourteen injured. The GSPC is an off-shoot of the G.I.A. and is led by Mokhtar BelmokhtarAlgerian soldier who fought in Afghanistan.
