    Volunteers are an essential part of GlobalLinks operations. Volunteers sort and pack needed medical supplies for shipment tohospitals serving the poor in developingcountries.Some volunteers check equipment or helpwith paperwork. More than 65% of themedical supplies Global Links sendsoverseas are packed by volunteers.

    Our next to volunteer opportunities are June 26 andAugust 28 . We will meet at Pane

    ras at 9 a.m. for a

    quick breakfast and fellowship and then carpool toPittsburgh where we will pack supplies from 10a.m. to 12 p.m. Then back to Panera s by 12:40.Please consider giving your time.

    weekend getaways and lets face it some weeks whereyou may not be in regular attendance at your normalchurch service. There is LOTS going on at Hope rightnow and we want to be able to keep up with you allsummer long and beyond wherever you are!

    Hi Judy!On my profile I just created a photo album entitled ColegioGorge Williams. This is the elementary school [pre k - 8thgrade] that we donated the school supplies to. There are about

    200 children at this school and all of them have some sort of family problem or are challenged themselves in some way.This school is completely sponsored by the YMCA, which isthe organization I am doing my service-learning internshipwith here in Valparaiso, Chile. The principal was going todecide who got the supplies but had a class of kids come takethe pictures with us. We packed all of the supplies in our suitcases, but one of our advisors was gracious enough to usea box which you see on the table in front of us in the first

    picture as her second piece of luggage. Thank you for everything you did for us and I hope you can pass these thanksalong to the members of Hope! Johnna

    Finally we have plans for a ministry that focuses on yourage group. Teaming with the Lutheran congregations of St. Johns, in Mars and Hope, in Cranberry.

    What is a Young Adult? Were aiming for agesfrom High School graduates to early thirties. You arewelcome and encouraged to bring friends of otherchurches or those without church affiliation.

    Why a Young Adult Ministry? Many of ourchurches have ignored the gifts and needs of this groupand we are making a specific effort to reach out tothem and to have them reach out, too.

    On June 20, 2010 a visit to the La Casa NarcisiWinery near Gibsonia will be our kick-off event. Thatday, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., a group calle

    Guys Duo will be playing classic rock music awinery.
