From the Executive Director

It is hard to believe it is mid-July at this point but SAAGNY has been busy. SAAGNY held its Fifth Annual Summer Showcase on Tuesday, June 7, at the Metropolitan Pavilion, New York City. The show floor was slightly reconfigured this year to accommodate additional exhibitors and sold out again for the fifth straight year! This year's show included more than 70 supplier and multi-line representative companies occupying more than 120 tables.

More than 500 distributors and their clients were in attendance at the show, which included a “Best in Show” display, featuring favorite items from exhibiting suppliers, a gourmet lunch for all in attendance, an ice cream cart for a sweet afternoon treat, and gift bags for the end-users, filled with promotional products from exhibiting suppliers. The evening before the show included a Networking Reception at the trendy Dream Downtown where suppliers and distributors were able to mix and mingle in a relaxed atmosphere. The following week – SAAGNY was on the road at Expo East in Atlantic City. Expo East was held at the Atlantic City Convention Center, Atlantic City, NJ with over 395 booths. SAAGNY hosted several well-attended events over the three days including The SAAGNY Foundation Lenore Goldberg Memorial Golf Outing, the Regional Meet N' Greet at Tun Tavern, SAAGNY Member Breakfast featuring Bill Petrie, Promo Corner as our educational speaker, and hosting the Regional Member Lounge where SAAGNY members had the chance to meet members from the other District 1 regionals. SAAGNY also unveiled its new website this past month. Its fresh and user-friendly style will provide our members and future members user friendly access to SAAGNY Showcases, events, programs, member benefits, news and member only information including an online membership directory. Summer Happenings at The SAAGNYFoundation

Each year, a dedicated group of The SAAGNY Foundation volunteers visit Happiness is Camping, a sleep-away camp in western New Jersey for children with cancer and their siblings. This annual excursion - complete withcarnival games, activities, arts and crafts, and lots of fun - is always pirate themed. The day concludes with each camper selecting a special gift and receiving a goody bag. This year The SAAGNY Foundation will be visiting

The SAAGNY Foundation will be visiting Hilltop School, Haverstraw, NY for a full day of fun activities to spreadhappiness and new experiences.

The Hilltop school is for children facing a variety of learning, social, and emotional difficulties. who face a variety of learning challenges. The program provides a predictable and positive learning environment so that students are able to acquire the skills necessary for both academic and social success. The SAAGNY Foundation through a variety of planned activities exposes students to a fun day of just being kids!
