Empire State Development has announced the 4th round of the Restore
New York Communities Initiative. This program has been on hold since 2009, but has been re-launched as part of the States 2015-2016 budget. The purpose of this program is to help revitalize urban areas and stabilize neighborhoods. Work should be clearly identified, be it demolition or deconstruction, or rehabilitation and reconstruction. Each subject parcel should also be identified along with the intended action. An intention to apply form is due from the local elected body by 5 p.m., July 13
th, with final applications due to ESD’s Albany Headquarters by 3
p.m., October 3rd
. A municipality may submit multiple letters of intent, but may only submit one final application.
