SUMMER SHOW 201019th July - 21st AugustPresented by RUA RED South Dublin Arts Centre

This is the 2nd year of RUA RED’s annual Summer Show and its another cracker! Over 150 artists applied, and after a fierce selection process, the work of 28 artists was chosen. The exhibition showcases a wide variety of media from dierent artistic disciplines including photography, painting, drawing, installation and video.Artists this year include Victoria J Dean, Sheila Gorman, Jane Fogarty and Louise Wallace.

A LONG TEARLESS NIGHT7th June - 3rd JulyBy artist FiFi Smith and presented by Tallaght Community Arts

We have all been there, but where is it? That perplexing zone in our mind between sleep and wakefulness, when nothing is certain.

In this installation of eight rooms, each of them creates a ‘mood’ with images and sound where the impact and resonance between reality and dreams evokes another world.

ETHEREAL REALITY12th - 24th JulyAn exhibition by artist Kelly Power

Kelly's work is concerned with the notion of the unsettling and unease within figurative work. Her skilfully worked paintings depict fragments of the body which hint at an often dark and unsettling narrative.

Having recently graduated from Limerick College of Art and Design, Kelly already has a host of awards and exhibitions to her name. Including the 2009 'Freyer Award' from the RDS Art Awards, and more recently the Merit award at the Golden Fleece Awards 2010.

JACKIE ASKEW2nd - 28th AugustPresented by Alternative Entertainments

This exhibition depicts the artist’s interest in the exploration of her geographical place, living in Co Clare on the westernmost edge of Europe. Through photographic documentation and the process of drawing and painting, she explores both the strength and fragility of found objects and engages with the materiality of what has been displaced and given by the sea. The resultant works are small in scale and work together as constellations rather than separately, shifting with ease between the abstract and the representational.
