There will be multiple mission projects at CBA churches to communicate God’s love to the people of central Oklahoma. Make plans to volunteer at one of the sites to show the love of our Savior and advance His Mission! Watch for details in the August newsletter.

It still amazes me the many intriguing ways the Lord uses to get our attention, give us encouragement, and guidance.

As I pen this article, I am in Kansas City enjoying the company of my brother and his family. (That’s what I tell them. I’m really here for the Bar-B-Que.)

Before we left OKC, I needed to tag my new used truck. When they gave me the plate it read JDG 717. I thought, “Huh, Judges 7:17. I wonder how that reads.” Then I got distracted and didn’t follow up on it.

We rolled out of town the next day and made it all the way to Vinita, OK before we had to stop for a break. When I was walking back to the truck, I noticed the plates again. This time I looked it up.

Judges 7:17: “Watch me,” he told them. “Follow my lead. When I get to the edge of the camp, do exactly as I do.”

It’s the story of Gideon, just before God leads them into battle. Gideon says:

- Watch me... (Focus) - Follow my lead... (Be Ready) - Do as I do... (Take Action)

Excellent marching orders: - for us in our daily lives (keep our focus on Him) - as a parent to their children (lead by example) - as a Mission Director counseling a Guest (you can do this)

You can, and will be most effective when you keep your eyes on Him.

Easy words to say, but with life’s many distractions, sometimes hard to put into practice.

Mission News: It’s hot! Pray for those on medications; in this heat most meds become far less effective. That equates to increased incidents of bad behavior. Pray for discernment to see the underlying cause when they flare up, and mercy in dealing with each situation.
