Introduction

This document provides the branding requirements for the authorized vendor channel (previously known as independent sales agents), specifically when and how to apply the Verizon brand and authorized vendor brand across touchpoints .

Introduction

Introduction / Brand strategy

Brand strategyAs per the new brand strategy identified for the indirect retail channel, they (e.g., Market Star and CreditCo) will now be referred to as authorized vendors instead of Fios independent sales agents. This terminology is for internal purposes only and is not a customer-facing name.

We will no longer use a logo lockup (i.e., Verizon Independent Sales Agent) as we have in the past. The Verizon brand and authorized vendor brand will live separately.

These guidelines provide the branding and legal requirements for when/how to use the Verizon and authorized vendor brands to identify who the customer is doing business with.

Logos

Primary logo

The Verizon logo is a combination of the name “Verizon” and the checkmark symbol. It is a custom wordmark based on the font Neue Haas Grotesk Display 75 Bold.

Whenever possible, use the color-positive version of the primary logo, as seen on the right. This logo is built with two colors: black and Verizon Red. The wordmark never appears without the checkmark.

An alternate, color-reverse, primary logo may appear on dark-colored backgrounds.

Limited-use, small-scale logo

Use the primary Verizon logo in most applications. However, there are times when space constraints require the use of the limited-use, small-scale logo. The letter spacing in this version has been optimized for use at sizes that would compromise the legibility of the primary logo.

For widths smaller than 1" or 100px and larger than 0.5" or 60px, use the small-scale version of the logo.

Do not use either version of the logo at sizes smaller than 0.5" or 60px.

Primary logos

Use the primary logo files for widths of 1" or 100px (desktop)/150px (mobile) or wider, based on the combined width of the Verizon wordmark and checkmark.

For widths smaller than 1"/100px, use the small-scale logos, below.

Limited-use, small-scale logos

Use the limited-use, small-scale logo files for widths of 0.5" or 60px (desktop)/ 100px (mobile) up to 0.999" or 99px (desktop)/150px (mobile), based on the combined width of the Verizon wordmark and checkmark.

Never use any version of the logo at sizes smaller than 0.5" or 60px.

Clear space

To ensure the optimum legibility of the logo, maintain ample clear space at all times. Clear space is equal to the width of the checkmark, as shown.

Do not place other logos, type or graphic elements within the clear space indicated in the diagram at right. Clear space has been built into the logo files provided.

Note: Sizes indicated in this document refer to the width of the actual artwork and do not include the clear space.

Presenting the Verizon logos

Use the Verizon logo only on backgrounds that ensure their maximum legibility.

For instances when a logo is required for one-color applications, limited special-use versions of the logo have been provided. Get approval from the Verizon Brand Management team to use these marks.

1. Color positive over Primary Gray

2. Color positive over Supporting Gray

3. Color positive over white (for bills, receipts and web applications)

4. Color-reverse over the special-use charcoal (Note: Be careful when placing the reversed logo over any Verizon gray color; reverse the logo only over Primary Gray or charcoal, never over Supporting Gray.)

5. Limited special-use, one-color, reverse over black (for digital applications, promotional items and apparel)

6. Limited special-use, one-color, positive over white (for bills, receipts and web applications)

Limited special-use, one-color versions of the logo have been provided. Secure prior written consent from the Verizon Brand Management team to use these marks.

Verizon logo / Background misuse

8

Background misuse

When placing the Verizon logo in layouts, it’s important to use approved backgrounds. This will ensure sufficient contrast as well as overall brand consistency.

So, that means don’t place the logo over

1. Photography that doesn’t provide enough contrast.

2. The secondary color palette.

3. The “pops of color” color palette.

4. Non-approved colors.

5. Patterns or busy backgrounds.

It also means don’t place the color-reverse logo over:

6. Light-colored backgrounds.

7. Red backgrounds, as the checkmark will not be visible.

And don’t place the color-reverse logo over:

8. The “pops of color” color palette.

Or any logo over:

9. Verizon Red.

8. 9.7.

5. 6.4.

Incorrect logo use

To ensure the integrity of the logo, do not:

1. Add elements to the logo to create new logos or organization names.

2. Violate the clear space around the logo.

Additionally, don’t lock up the logo with:

3. Any authorized vendor logo using a hairline separator.

4. Any other logo directly.

5. Product names or other words.

6. Shapes or illustrations.

7. And, do not use the logo in a sentence or body copy.

And note:

8. Do not separate the checkmark from the Verizon logo.

9. Do not use the Neue Haas Grotesk font for the authorized vendor name or logo.

5. Stretch or distort the logo.

ID and name badges

Authorized vendors must wear ID or name badges at all times. These badges must prominently feature the authorized vendor logo or name (shown as “ABC Company” for illustration purposes).

Follow the layout to the right when an ID badge is required to be displayed on a lanyard. The layout must include an employee photo, the full-color authorized vendor logo and the legal language “ABC Company is an independent business and Verizon authorized vendor” when using the Verizon logo. The Verizon logo must adhere to the sizing standards shown in the sample visual and should never be larger than the authorized vendor logo.

Follow the layout to the right in instances when a smaller name badge is required. Due to the limited space, only the authorized vendor logo may appear. Do not include any Verizon logo or name.

Badges should never mimic the Verizon masterbrand and must always clearly represent the authorized vendor brand.
