Bishop Kagan has established Saint Mary Sisters - On June 1, 2020, the feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church, Bishop Kagan announced the formation of the Public Association of the Christian Faithful for Women, the St. Mary Sisters, for the Diocese of Bismarck. This is open to all single Catholic women between the ages of 18-35 who have a personal relationship with Christ and His Church, a clear aptitude towards learning and teaching, and an evident desire to live the evangelical counsels. St. Mary’s Parish in Bismarck has a part-time position (20 to 30 hours per week) for a Director of Music and Marriage Preparation Coordinator. Individual must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, be proficient in the use of the organ/keyboard, and have a knowledge and appreciation of the Church’s liturgical tradition. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and implementing the liturgical music program for Sunday Masses and other parish liturgies. Additionally, the individual will serve as the Marriage Preparation Coordinator to assist and accompany couples preparing for the Sacrament of Marriage, which entails meeting with engaged couples and assisting couples in planning their wedding liturgy. St. Mary’s Cemetery is seeking an assistant groundskeeper to help maintain the cemetery. This is a full-time seasonal position (up to 40 hours per week, working from now until October 15). Main duties will include lawn maintenance, mechanical repairs, and general maintenance and operations of the cemetery.
