    Welcome Jim Dant

Call to Worship “Hornpipe” from Water Music G.F. Handel

    Thought for Meditation

People, like Jesus and the prophets, live with their wills open to cooperate with God’s creative power. Desmond Tutu, winner

of the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to end apartheid in South Africa, summed this up well when he told me personally, “We are only the light bulbs, Richard, and our job is just to remain screwed in!” – Richard Rohr

    Prayer for Worship

O God of liberation, you set us free in Jesus Christ with a power greater than all that would keep us captive. In our freedom, we gather to worship you that in our connection with you and each other the light of your love will shine through us illuminating our journey through life. Amen.

    Pastoral Prayer Vivian Hamilton

    The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

*Children’s Hymn 220 HENDON “Ask Me What Great Thing I Know”

All children first through fifth grades are invited to come to the front during

the singing of the last two stanzas of this hymn.

    Children’s Sermon

Choral Worship “The Morning Trumpet” arr. Timothy Paul Banks

O when shall I see Jesus and reign with him above,And shall hear the trumpet sound in that mornin’,

And from the flowing fountain drink everlasting love, And shall hear the trumpet sound in that mornin’.

Shout O glory for I shall mount above the skies,When I hear the trumpet sound in that mornin’.

When shall I be delivered from this vain world of sin,And shall hear the trumpet sound in that mornin’

And with my blessed Jesus drink endless pleasure in,And shall hear the trumpet sound in that mornin’.

But now I am a soldier, my Captain’s gone before,And shall hear the trumpet sound in that mornin’,

He’s given me my orders, he bids me ne’er give o’er,And shall hear the trumpet sound in that mornin’.

Call to Prayer “To You” John Tirro
