Morning Star it’s Our Year of Celebrations.  On July 9th we are

celebrating the Renaissance Center –

it’s been 15 years of showing the Church and Community that Sometimes all it Takes is Knowing Someone Cares. 

At the event, From Transformation to Revelation: The Great Reveal, the

Center will be honoring champions of mental health including the following persons: Bishop Dwayne C. Debnam,

Dr. Karen Bethea, Cynthia Hinnant, Pastor C. Guy Robinson, Rev. Pamula Yerby-Hammack, Dr. Kevin Daniels, Dr.

John Belcher, Dr. Rahn Bailey and Jan Desper-Peters. All of these honorees

have contributed to the well-being of those under their direct care and in the community in which they serve. Patrice

Sanders of Fox 45 will be the mistress of ceremonies for the event, which will also include performances from Stellar

award winner Jessica Greene, our own Aoctavia Miller and Dr. Anthony Brown and the Studio A Dancers.  Find out

Member Minister Lynnea Johnson is delighted to announce and share with her church family that she has written her first children's book: "The Purity Purse" is a book for tweens (8-15)! This book addresses the choices of peer pressure and purity that our children/youth face on a daily basis. It also encourages parents to have these conversations with their children even when it's uncomfortable. The book will be available starting July 10th. MEMBER SPOTLIGHTThe Renaissance Center (RC), a Christian Counseling Center, has an opening for a part time Clinical Director/Therapist. This individual will provide clinical supervision to staff, occasionally represent the RC at fairs or other community events, see clients and attend staff meetings. In the absence of the Executive Director, the Clinical Director will be expected to perform some of those duties.The part time hours are 20-25 hours per week including two evenings a week and a flexible schedule to accommodate scheduling staff and clients for other daytime appointments. The applicant must have at least 5 years of experience providing counseling and at least 2 years as a Clinical Director. Additionally, the applicant must have a LCPC,  LCSW-C license or be a licensed psychologist in Maryland and possess a masters or doctorate degree in social work, counseling, psychology, pastoral counseling, etc. Please forward your resume to Dr. Carla Debnam, Executive Director Renaissance Center, cdebnam@msbcministries.org.
