    Class IX Quiz Contest

Quizzing greatly helps in improving our comprehension skills. One tends to gradually improve in connecting things. When you have to face a 15 line question it is all about pruning all the clutter and getting to the key part first. This aspect is extremely important when it comes to solving real life problems. Quizzes train you to look at the right places.

    Student Think Tank for India

The final sounding of the shrill bell on the twenty-first of June was a moment of curiosity for forty-two

senior students of the tenth to twelfth grades who had resolved, with varying reasons, to stay back in

school for another hour- it signalled the start of the third edition of the STTI (Student Think Tank for

    India) initiative in DPS Hyderabad.

Miss. Aayushi, was the presenter and moderator for the day. Moving to the primary subject for the day,

which can quite reasonably be encapsulated in a phrase along the lines of ‘problems faced by society’,

the audience was asked to list out the problems they saw in the world, India and their own

neighbourhoods respectively, one after another. A whiteboard was put to use for the same; words like

poverty, illiteracy, [poor] sanitation, discrimination and terrorism figured in the three lists. A popular vote

was taken to decide which of these problems was to be discussed in detail, which resulted in a sizeable

    win for “discrimination”.

Different kinds of discrimination were examined. There was an attempt to understand its effects and

causes, and a foray into searching for remedies.

The second session of the Student Think Tank For India (STTI) for the academic year 2016-17 took

place on June 28, 2016. The session started off with the Head Boy and Head Girl briefing the students

about the topics that were to be discussed in the session. Civic and social issues and The CBSE’s plan

to make all the Board exams online were discussed at length.
