Simon on Friday and
the Holmses on Sat-
urday we sold
$370.00 worth of
tickets and now are
in the black for both
prizes.
The mini tour that
we made last month
resulted in 12 cars in
our parade to B&B
Automotive in New-
ark Valley, including
one couple who
might be prospective
new members.
We will be busy in
the next month and
a half preparing for
the show and need
much help selling
adds, trophy spon-
sorship and just plain
grunt work for the
car show, we need all
your help!
The car show is fast
approaching, but we
still have to make it
through July. First of
all we will be meeting
on July 21 for our
annual picnic meet-
ing. This year through
the generous offer of
John and Lisa Milton
we will met at their
home at 890 Jones
Road, Vestal. For you
who might not know
how to get there, the
easiest route is from
the Vestal Parkway,
turn south onto Ar-
lington Ave. At the
stop sign continue on
Tracy Creek Rd. to
left turn on Jones Rd.
The Milton’s drive is
on the left with an
antique gas pump at
the entrance. We will
be meeting at
6:00P.M. The Miltons
felt we might be bet-
ter off at their home
than at the Trout
Ponds as they are
less apt to have an-
noying bugs as well
as they have shelter if
we should have rain
as our luck seems to
run for the last
three picnics.
Our participation in
the Strawberry Pa-
rade resulted in 12
cars, 6 from Tioga
Region and 6 from
Crusin’ Buddies. We
also had, through the
generous efforts of
Jim Meade a booth at
the Festival where
we displayed and
sold tickets for the
peddle car and tool
box. Thanks to the
efforts of George

State Legislation Postponed
T I O G A T R A N S M I S S I O N
The above legislations were all Introduced many years ago as an incen-
tive for new inductees to our hobby. Each would add to the attraction for
those who are thinking of joining our forces. The benefit of each would
increase the number of cars in our state that are dedicated to our efforts,
and add to the preservation of our automotive history.
It is time for our representatives in Albany to remember that it was us
who put them in their position and they need to give consideration to our
program. The antique car hobby adds not thousands but millions to the
economy each year, our voice should be recognized by those we elected!

A New Tioga Connection Last year we had a
nice tour to Roch-
ester for the Lilac
Festival, and we
were fortunate to
make as connection
with Genesee Valley
Antique Car Soci-
ety in the form of
their president Pat
Thorp. We also had
contact with our
quick to become
fast friends, Don &
Chris Deer.
As a result of meet-
ing these people we
were able to add
four car collections
to our tour! We
also were able to
help Don and Chris
to plan a tour for
GVACS to our
area.
Cheryl and Have
continued to build a
friendship with the
Deers and recently
discovered that
GVACS was looking
to improve their
car show judging
program. They
asked us if we
would show them
how Tioga Region
handled the judging
of our show.
In the past Genesee
Region hired judges
to come to their
show and, using a
points system, judge
their show. This ex-
pensive method not
only cut into their
ability to do the
charitable work
they wanted to ac-
complish but also
was becoming
more difficult to
find qualified judges.
Cheryl and I met
with the Deers and
a couple named the
Huffmans to show
them our proven
method using the
show participants
as judges. Although
there are some of
GVACS members
who resist change,
as there are in all
regions, it is the
hope that Genesee
Region will begin to
use the method
that we of Tioga
Region have devel-
oped.
Genesee Region
will also be pro-
moting our show
by stuffing their
welcome bags with
flyers for our show.

I get lots of flyers in
the mail for car events
so I am using them for
fillers in this newslet-
ter. Hope you find
them to be of interest.
