    MUMCs Got Talent! The second annual talent show fundraiser to benefit Grannys House, First Chance for Children, and UMW missions will be held Saturday, Sept. 12. Early bird talent sign-up is today, at the Sophia Circle table in the Connector, or you can send an email to [email protected]. Additional sign-up dates will be held in August.

    Festival of Sharing Kit Collection - Members of Searcy-Feely Circle are in the Connector to receive monetary donations and school kits for the July Festival of Sharing.

    Coming Up Prayer shawl ministry evening knitting group will meet

    Tuesday, July 21 at 5:30 p.m. in the Cornerstone Coffee Shop. Please bring completed shawls and those in progress for blessing. If you or a family member are in need of a prayer shawl, please contact the church office or Betty Dillard at 445-5377.

    Aug. 4: All-Church BBQ and Movie Night - The Family Ministries Team will host an All-Church BBQ and Movie Night on Tuesday, Aug. 4. Join us in the parking lot at 4 p.m. for food, fun and games followed by a movie in the MPR suitable for all ages!

    Social Justice Book Club next meeting: Tuesday, Sept 8, 2015 Fall 2015 Book Selection: Becoming a Justice Seeking Congregation by William McElvaney In his book, McElvaney addresses the what, why, where, and how questions related to social justice. It is written for everyone interested in biblical, theological, and sociological issues concerning peace and justice in todays society. The book blends the basics of social justice and practical knowledge with an enlightening view as a challenge for the church and man to make an impact in the world.     School Supplies for Nicaragua - Rainbow Network conducts schools in 112 remote rural villages in Nicaragua, educating thousands of children for a better life. Our Columbia based Container Project is collecting school supplies to send a sea going container in September. ASk for a list of supplies needed and deliver items to PET Warehouse, 1908 Heriford Rd., Columbia 65202, (573-886-7877)....or write a check to MUMC and designate Container Project School Supplies. Three from our congregation toured Rainbow Network ministries in Nicaragua in April, Anne Gifford, Judy Parsons and Cleo Kottwitz. Ask them for more information or invite them to do a presentation for your group.
