FESTIVALS 2010 A wonderful view of Var Summer Festivals stretches out as far as the eye can see, ranging from beach side classical concerts, rock, pop, raggae, baroque, chamber music,jazz in the hills, in the vineyards – just about everywhere, you will be spoilt for choice, so for heavens sake, enjoy. Pictured above is one of the concerts you might find on the Plage de Canabieres, just outside St. Tropez, in the programme of Nuits des Chateau de la Moutte. The Var has gone mad on Tango, and Astor Piazzola, you will find concerts all over on this theme, which is great, one just hopes they also provide a piste de dance for enthusiastic patrons to try out the wonderful rthymns of Tango. There is a choice of everything – Enjoy!

DOMAINE DU RAYOL are quite something else. The Domaine de Rayol Canadel is a huge garden estate created in the mid 1930’s featuring all the best of Mediterranean and allied region’s flora from throughout the world. From 12

July to 9 August they hold concerts, usually classical piano recitals on a Monday night, in the open air, looking out on a fantastic panorama from the gardens over the blue Mediterranean. It really does not get better than this. This year featured pianists will be Cyril Huve. Philippe Cassaro, Marie-Josephe Jude, Marie-Claire Le Guay, with cellist Francois Salque, and the final concert will be given by two very gifted singer guitarists, Angelique Iontos and Katerina Fotinaki.
