We ask this through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

Dynamic Catholic, Alive! – Love of Neighbor Who is your neighbor? Someone next door, only the people you like, or all people? The poorest of the poor, near and far; the most needy in mind, body, and spirit; the holiest and most whole people we know—Christ calls us to strive to serve the needs of all, for the good of all. As members of His Mystical Body, we know the strength and joy of solidarity. (CCC 1939-1942, 2237-2241) archstl.org/dynamic

WORD OF LIFE: “Gracious Father, I thank you for the mercy you have shown in forgiving my sins and for the peace that comes from being reconciled with you and with your Church.” — “Trust in God’s Mercy” USCCB Prayer Card (Post-Abortion Healing)*

What does it mean to be a Catholic in the Archdiocese of St. Louis and St. Joachim & St. Joseph Parishes? It means securing the Future of Catholic Education: The effort to make quality Catholic education accessible to as many families of school-aged children as possible. Because we are more than just our fish fries…we are the Body of Christ. Learn more at beone.archstl.org.

BEYOND SUNDAY CAMPAIGN: As good stewards, we ask that everyone participates in the Beyond Sunday Campaign. If you haven’t received campaign information these past weeks, you will be receiving information in the mail very soon. We ask you to prayerfully consider your sacrifice whether it be monetary or prayers for success. Your support is important. All we ask is that you return the ENTIRE PLEDGE SHEET whether or not you are able to donate to this campaign. This is one way to participate. Please remember to sign the returned pledge sheet! No pledge is too small and no prayer will ever be turned away!

THIS WEEK’S READINGS: The first reading today sets the stage for our Gospel story of the good Samaritan. Moses tells the people that God’s command is within each heart. As we hear the story of the good Samaritan, it is good for us to realize that acting mercifully toward our neighbor is built into the human heart; all we have to do is act on it. Let us then ask God for the courage to do what we already know how to do.

QUESTION OF THE WEEK: Whom did I pass by on my way to today’s Eucharist, and what hands-on mercy can I offer that person?

Are You Registered? Did you know that demographic studies estimate that more than 1/3 of all Catholics are not registered in a parish? If you are not registered in our parish, please consider doing so. Also, please encourage your friends and family to register! Registering is important because: •If a parish doesn’t know who is out there, how can it adequately serve the needs of all – especially singles, divorced or young families who may not see the need to register? •When the services of the Church are needed - such as for a wedding, Baptism or funeral - it is easier if the person is registered. •Registered parishioners receive helpful information about our parish in the form of newsletters several times throughout the year. Registering is easy. Call the parish office at 573-438-6181 or look for a registration form at the doors of the church.

SAVE THE DATE! St. Joachim Athletic Association will sponsor a Horseshoe Tournament on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Cost is $10 per person, bring your partner or draw for a partner. Concessions will be available. There will be a 50/50 drawing, raffle for 2 pair of New Gordon Horseshoes, Gym membership to Fortitude Fitness and many more items. Proceeds benefit St. Joachim School Athletic Program (Boys & Girls Soccer, Girls Volleyball, Boys & Girls Basketball, Boys & Girls Track & Field). YOU ARE INVITED!!! On Saturday, July 23rd, we will

celebrate the Feast day of Sts. Joachim and Ann at the 4:00 pm Mass, followed by a light supper provided by the St. Anne Sodality. Please join us for a great evening of food and fellowship!

HOLY LAND ADVENTURE: BETHLEHEM VILLAGE VBS Is being held this week at St. Michael House. Please pray for all the teachers and children attending this week! Everyone is invited to the closing party on Friday evening at 7 pm!

Discerning your vocation in life: Jesus’ core message—that we are one—is surely one of the great mysteries of existence. This truth is so hard to accept because our senses tell a different story: We are separate, different, and alone. We need an image to help us realize what our senses cannot. Picture the giant redwood trees of California: They only grow in groves. Moreover, each tree’s roots extend and grasp the roots of the surrounding trees, forming a strong, interconnecting network that serves to nourish and sustain all of them equally. Remember the redwood trees and their invisible, interlocking roots as you discern your vocation. You are not alone and never will be on your chosen path to Christ.
