About the author

Jules Verne was a French novelist and poet, best known for his adventure novels.He was born in Nantes, raised to be a lawyer as his father , but quit the profession early , to write for magazines.Verne is the second most-translated author in the world, between Agatha Christy and William Shakespeare.He is often called as the ‘’father of science fiction’’

Around the world in 80 days(1873)

In the story , Phileas Fogg is a rich English gentleman , who lives a modest life , and likes to do all things with a mathematical way.In Reform club , in which he spends most of his day , he bets £ 20.000 with the other members, that he can travel all around the world in 80 days..So, he starts his journey with his valet Passepartout.He is watched by detective Fix, who suspects Fogg as someone who has robbed a bank in London. We can see the map of his journey below:
