EN14052 Vs EN397The EVO8™ Safety Helmet is tested from more than double the

height of helmets that meet EN397. EN14052 also requires the same

helmet to be tested twice, once on the crown and once for side

impacts. Together with testing from heights of up to 2.5 metres,

passing EN14052 means the Mk8 Evolution® can take over 3 times

the impact of any other EN397 helmet on the market. However, the

EVO8™ doesn’t just meet the new EN14052 standard, it exceeds it.

No other safety helmet offers this level of protection.

PENETRATION TEST - SIDEThe same weight is then dropped from 2 metres onto the shell at any

angle between 15° and 60° for Side Impact performance (19Joules).

IMPACT TEST - CROWNHelmet is hit twice, once in an area within a 35mm radius of the

crown with a 5kg weight from just over 2 metres (100Joules).

IMPACT TEST - SIDEThe same weight is then dropped from just over 1 metre onto

WE HAVE EVOLVED HEAD PROTECTIONThe Mk8 Evolution® is the only industrial safety helmet in the world meeting

and exceeding the new far tougher head protection standard EN14052 -

the biggest advance in industrial head protection in over 45 years.

The EVO8 is designed for today’s highest risk environments where high

impact / side impact situations are a concern such as Construction,

Mining, Tunnelling, Demolition, Oil and Gas, Offshore Marine, Refi nery

and Petrochemical, High Pressure Jetting and certain Emergency Services.

EN14052 is specifi ed into EN1789 as a mandatory requirement for each crew member for type B & C road ambulances.

Designed and developed over two years, EVO8’s excellent build quality

complements the high standard of design and materials which go

into the helmet, including features such as a high density liner and a

comfortable new harness system which create unparalleled wearer

comfort and acceptability.

EN14052 requires the helmet to withstand over 100 joules crown

impact (compared to 49 joules under EN397) and for the fi rst

time to withstand side impact protection of over 50 joules

to an angle of up to 60° from vertical

in a 360° radius around the shell.

Like all JSP safety helmets, the Mk8 EVO™ can be

branded with your corporate logo or company details.

There is space for branding on the front, sides and

back. Printed helmets can be delivered within ten

working days from JSP’s receipt of approved artwork.

SO WHY DID JSP DEVELOP THE EVO8™? JSP were approached by several large construction companies and civil engineers directly and asked the question could we develop a ‘safer helmet’ with side impact protection built-in?In 2007/2008, almost 2,000 people in the UK met with severe but non-fatal head injuries and a further 39 people died from head injuries sustained

in the workplace. These statistics would suggest a requirement for higher crown impact protection and proper benchmarked side impact protection.

A real life situation gives insight to the requirement for proper benchmarked side impact protection. A linesman at a major civil engineer received

a side impact working at height wearing a modern “lightweight” EN397 helmet. Concussed and hanging in his harness, the company was forced to

carry out a dangerous rescue at height. An EN14052 helmet would have provided signifi cantly better protection and most probably have avoided

this situation happening.

protection design. Designed to exceed the most recent standards,

EN812:1997+2001, years of thought and design iterations have

been undertaken to develop a product that is unrivalled in both

performance and style. Sleek and low profi le, it’s almost impossible

to distinguish from a standard ‘high street’ baseball cap.

The unique angled adjuster designed to fi t under the occipital

bone at the rear of the skull gives greatest retention yet, one size

really does fi t all. Particularly when combined with the castellated

protective liner, the liner is removable, therefore the cap part is

machine-washable for hygiene purposes. It has a terry-towelling

sweatband for added comfort and all colour-ways have subtle

refl ective piping for added visibility and safety.

SERVICELogo Colours• A maximum of 6 colours can usually be printed with an

optional full colour logos 256 colours.

• Ink colours may vary slightly when printed on different

safety helmet colours. We do not recommend printing

light colours onto dark coloured helmets because the

helmet colour may show through the ink.

• It is important to identify the colour of the safety helmet

on your order form. Your helmet colour may be one of

the colours in your logo, thereby reducing the number of

colours charged in the logo price.

ArtworkThe preferred fi le format is for artwork created in Illustrator

and saved as .ai or .eps fi les. These can be emailed to

[email protected] or sent on disc/CD to Logoed Helmets

Dept, JSP Ltd, Worsham Mill, Minster Lovell, Oxon OX29

0TA. It may be possible for JSP to use artwork in other

formats, however these may incur additional set up charges

and additional time to produce proofs.

Proofi ngJSP will provide black and white proofs to size for your

approval. The production process begins from this date.

on the Excel sheet, in black, with useful information (contact number, ID number etc.…) to a maximum width of 70mm.
