JRM Inc. pioneered the development o the longest lasting conventional aerifcation tine available today, the DILLENNIUM tine. In early 1995, JRMengineers embarked on a development program that extended over several years. The goal was to create a tubular conventional aerifcation tinethat would last a minimum o 18 greens under the most challenging soil conditions. This goal was realized in early 1998 with the introduction o theDILLENNIUM tine. The DILLENNIUM tines outlasted its OEM counterpart by a actor o seven or eight to one making the DILLENNIUM tine the mosteconomical tine on the market. A DILLENNIUM tine is, in a word, value. The development o this tine has revolutionized the aerifcation process.

In addition to our agship DILLENNIUM tine, JRM oers a Premium tine as an alternative. The Premium tine is identical to the correspondingDILLENNIUM tine in every way except that it does not have our trademarked carbide tip. In late 2002, JRM began research and development toengineer a top-o-the-line greens mower bedknie. Our engineers discovered a new way to manuacture bedknives through coining, and ater fveyears o intense development, our process was proven out, and a patent was issued. The coining process allows us to displace super-compressed steelmolecules into the strike point o the bedknie to lessen wear. Combined with our unique DURANIUM-801 steel, JRM bedknives are stronger andmore durable than any OEM bedknives on the market. Our bedknives will also extend reel lie due to reduced sharpening and backlapping.

NEW JRM Products for 2010

New or 2010, JRM will unveil a line o DURANIUM-801 Fairway bedknives. JRM is now oering a new line o Toro Fairway replacement bedknivesthat went on sale in October 2009. We also will have a ull line o Jacobsen and John Deere replacement airway bedknives by early to late spring

2010. In addition we are unveiling a line o INFINITY tines or 2010. This new technology, developed rom the areospace industry, is designed toincrease the longevity o our tines. This will result in a longer lasting tine. You can learn more about this new product on page 7.

Selectin the Correct Tine

There are several important characteristics that one should keep in mind when deciding which JRM tine to order. Most JRM tines when compared toan OEM tine, have a wall that is slightly thicker. This is necessary to provide the extra wear and strength. Because o the increased wall thickness andthe resulting slightly smaller core diameter (ID), it is oten desirable to select a JRM tine that is one size above the OEM tine you have historically used.For example, instead o a 1/2 OEM coring tine, one might wish to use a 5/8 JRM tine. First, decide what core diameter you would like to have andthen fnd the closest corresponding ID, and you have ound your tine.

The terminology and specication

conventions we use to describe both

conventional and deep tines were

not created by JRM, in actuality, they

have been in existence for many

years. There are two absolutely critical

measurements necessary to selecting

the correct tine: total length and

mounting diameter. The total length

necessity is easy to understand ... a tine

that is too long for a specic machine

will cause a very big problem, plowing.

If the mounting diameter is incorrect,

the tine will simply not t in the

machines mounting bracket.

The OD (outside diameter) on a Deep

Tine is, by tradition, the outside

diameter of the original production

stock (tubular steel). On Conventional

Tines, the OD is considered the

measurement at the tapered end.

These two measurements will vary

since all tines must have a taper in

order to pull a core.

The ID (inside diameter) is the cutting

measurement that will result in the

diameter of each core. Carefully

consider the tines ID, since it will

determine the diameter of each core.

When deciding whether to purchase

a DILLENNIUM tine or a Premium tine

one should consider the soil quality/

makeup. Since a DILLENNIUM tinewill outlast a Premium tine by a factor

of three or four, the choice should

be clear. However, if you are likely to

encounter excessive rocks or other

foreign material you may wish to

consider a Premium tine. A Premium

tine simply oers less nancial loss if a

tine breaks but less overall value.

Change is a constant at JRM, especially when it comes to our line of

DURANIUM-801 bedknives. Our goal in 2010 is to become a one-stopshop for bedknives as we strive to oer a full line of Greens mower, Tee Box,Fringe, Apron, and High-cut bedknives. In addition we have new Fairwaybedknives for Toro, Jacobsen, and John Deere mowers.

All JRM bedknives are manufactured using our unique coining process.This gives each DURANIUM-801 bedknife maximum strength with littlerisk of splitting or cracking. JRM bedknives will hold an edge signicantlylonger extending reel life. Through years of hard work, research, and testingby our engineering department, eld studies have proven that the JRMbedknives are superior to all other OEM or after-market bedknives on themarket. Our goal is to have a seamless transition into the Fairway bedknifemarket, as we have received terric feedback from the eld so far with ourline of Toro Fairway bedknives.

We want to reiterate the importance of using our screws as well. Toensure a proper t and to make sure our tolerances stay at the higheststandards, it is necessary that you use JRM screws with JRM bedknives. Also,do not expect JRM bedknives to look exactly like the OEMs because theydont. However, they will replace and out-perform all OEM bedknives. Also,dont be alarmed if our bedknives are a little tougher to grind. Once youplace them on your mower, youll see an immediate dierence in quality ofcut and durability.

As you will notice, we made a change to our John Deere greensmowerline. After extensive research, we modied our 4BD250104 and 4BD250105to make it similar to the OEM product. We found that our original bedkniveswere wider, which made it a little more dicult to set up if you werentaccustomed to working with our bedknives. We simply shortened thewidth to make it more compatible to the John Deere bedknife. For thoseof you who prefer our original bedknives, we still oer the product in ourcatalog calling it an Extended-cut version. The 4BD250114 is the original4BD250104, and the 4BD250115 is the original 4BD250105.
