Joyspring is an intense and challenging experience for healthy men and women committed tobreaking through to a new level of success and fulfillment.

Beyond the ‘iam-Forum

While the emphasis in the i am Training is on self-discovery andawareness, Joyspring is an interpersonal experience where you can bechallenged to stretch yourself beyond what you believe are your currentlimits. As you succeed, with the support of facilitators and otherparticipants, you will discover that you are capable of more than youimagined possible. An underlying premise of Joyspring is that you aremost effective when you choose to be fully responsible for your actionsand experiences. Joyspring is grounded in the principle that yourexperience of life is truly your own creation and that you have the powerto respond effectively to all its circumstances. The result can be a lastingsense of certainty and self-confidence which spills over into every area ofyour life.

In Joyspring, you engage 100 percent—intellectually, emotionally,physically and intuitively. At times, you may experience thoughts, feelingsor sensations that you have not thoroughly experienced before. Mostparticipants find this a fascinating and highly challenging experience.Joyspring also provides opportunities for letting go of the past. Inreleasing old feelings of anger, sadness, disappointment or guilt, you cansee the past more clearly, and recognise the decisions you made thatblock the way to ongoing success and fulfilment. In this process, thebarriers to experiencing joy and aliveness dissolve. You are more free tolive fully in the present. Joyspring is your opportunity to confront your lifehead-on. During Joyspring, you will participate in a variety oflearning processes that build upon yourexperiences in the i am Training. There are fewerlectures, more individual participation, fewerparticipants, and more direct interaction betweenthe trainer and participants, and among theparticipants themselves.

Familiarise yourself with the kinds of learningprocesses that make up Joyspring by reading thedescriptions below. The exercises are similar,although sometimes more rigorous and mayevoke a more emotional response than thelearning processes you experienced in the i amTraining.

Ground Rules are designed to assist everyone inworking cooperatively within a consistent format.During the first session of the training, the trainerwill review the Ground Rules and ask that youagree to follow them as a condition of continuing inthetraining.

In the Joyspring, you will work closely with one ormore “buddies” during many of the learningprocesses. Buddies provide you with anopportunity to demonstrate responsibility,commitment, authenticity and contribution toothers.

Over the course of the training, you will meet anumber of times with a small group to discusswhat you are learning and to share yourexperiences. You will also participate together as agroup in certain training exercises. A volunteerstaff member will act as your small group leader.

During Joyspring you will participate in severalone-on-one interactions with your buddy or otherparticipants, which we call dyads. You may beasked to answer a series of questions, completestatements, describe something that happened toyou, or assume a particular body posture. Dyadsprovide opportunities to look honestly at specificpersonal issues, and to support your partner in theprocess.

In a mingle, you will move about the trainingroom,having brief interactions with many differentpeople.As in dyads, your communication withother people during mingles is structured.

As part of the training, you will participate in anumber of different games and an individual orgroup skit or performance. These activities aredesigned to allow you to discover and exploreways of being that are powerful and effectivewhich you may not be fully expressing in yourdaily life.

During closed-eye processes, you will be guidedby your trainer in visualising situations from thepast,and in creating a positive vision for yourfuture. To facilitate relaxation and promotecreativity, background music may be played andthe lights may be lowered during these exercises.

At many points throughout the training, you willbe asked to share about yourself and what youare learning with other participants, and to listento the experiences of others. This sharing maytake place one-on-one, in small groups, or in frontof all the training participants.

Joyspring is an interpersonal experience whereyou will interact directly with other students in theroom. The trainer is present to support you indefining your commitment and to give you honestfeedback as to whether or not you are on trackwith this commitment throughout the process.Interactions with others allow you to examine yourattitudes, assumptions and behaviours, and youmay feel challenged or uncomfortable in dealingwith the unfamiliar.

You will be given homework and/or assignmentsto complete outside the training room. These aredesigned to assist you to reflect on yourexperience and bring greater clarity to what youare learning.

Enrolment RequirementsCompletion of the iam-Forum is a pre-requisite for the Joyspring. A series of individualforms are required to activate your enrolment. Please read, complete and submit allrequired enrolment registration materials within two days after enrolling in the courseand prior to the start of the course. Pat Grove Coaching Academy reserves the right torefuse enrolment in Joyspring to anyone who, in our best judgment, will not benefitfrom the experience of the training at this time.
