MEDIA ADVISORY Journey Magazine To Host Release Party For First Issue
TALLAHASSEE, FLA – Journey Magazine, Florida A&M University’s student-‐run magazine, will be hosting a release party for its inaugural issue of the school year at Tasty Eats inside Tallahassee’s Railroad Square. The event will feature performances and music. Tasty Eats will have food available for purchase. Journey is an award-‐winning magazine that has most recently been named the No. 1 College Magazine in the Southeast Journalism Conference’s Best of The South Competition and ranks No.1 in its region in the Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Awards. The Journey staff prides itself on covering topics that are prevalent among the student body and within the African-‐American community. The fall issue is a fusion of both topics and will deliver readers a dose of political knowledge, university pride and a black cultural outlook. Attendees of the release event will be able to get an exclusive first look of the “Homecoming/Black In America” issue. Tallahassee, FL 32310 WHY: Journey magazine seeks to inform, empower and entertain its readers through its publication with diverse feature stories, creative photographs and clever design. The release party will feature a diverse group of performers and food will be available for purchase from the host restaurant. This event will also allow readers to meet the 2012-‐2013 Journey staff.
