The Benefits ofJournaling
Journaling relieves stress by
helping you work through your
anxious feelings. Feelings of
anxiety lead to stress when left
unchecked. Journaling can be a
powerful tool for examining and
shifting your thoughts from
anxious to empowered.

Don't Overthink
This won't be graded. Write
whatever is on your mind
without judging yourself. You
may want to curse, complain, or
just talk through your issues. This
is the place to write what you
feel and to get it all out.
Releasing those thoughts and
feelings are important.
Be Consistent
It helps more when you write
regularly. Set aside 5-10 minutes
a few times a week and treat it
like it's sacred. It is.

Read Your OldEntries
You'll often find common themes
in your writing. This will give you
an accurate snapshot of what
you're focusing on. You'll also
find that you get to look at old
situations with a new lens.
Seeing yourself grow will do
great things for your self-
esteem.

Keep a Success Log
When you accomplish things, no
matter how small throughout the
week, write them down. You can
do this in bullet form. At the end
of the week, read them.

Draw or Doodle
Sometimes you don't want to
write words. Draw your feelings
in your journal instead. it doesn't
have to be pretty, it just has to
be from you. This can especially
help if you do it while you're on
a difficult phone call. .

Gratitude Journal
Every day, in the morning, write
down three things you're grateful
for. It can be very simple and
you can repeat items on different
dates. The key is to cultivate a
sense of gratitude throughout the
day.
