What caught my attention in Allison’s photo-

graph was the color of the “magic hour”

sky. It has a very hopeful “new beginning”

feel to it, This is a photo of an early morn-

ing peaceful moment of a town before the

day begins. Or it can be the photo of a

town after a disaster (kind of reminds me ofthe what my town looked like after Hurri-

cane Sandy hit. Abandoned, Isolate, but

beautiful within its tranquility. My eye is

drawn to the GLOBE sign with its bright

Red and white letters glowing. It screams

look at me. The composition of the photo is

balanced and the lines and lead my eye to

explore the photograph. All of Allison’s pho-tographs have a American hometown aes-

thetic to them. I could see her work in a gal-

    lery somewhere.

    What drew my attention in

    Christopher’s photograph was the

dark aboding cloudy sky. This is a

photo of road perhaps the Autobahn

in Germany, and the dark cloudy

skies above it. Christopher’s photo is

also about a journey, one where dark

skies loom and the “road” is long,

    and treacherous.

It was the point of view this photo that caught my attention. Every-

thing is in focus, and permits me to explore each level of it. in detail.

The photo is a “Gods” view of a city.I like the way the light illuminates

each level. The patterns, lines, frame with in a frame on each level

    tells its own story.

I chose this particular photograph of Humberto because of darkaboding theme of something hiding and then discovered. I really

like they way the light and shadows revel and conceal.

This is a photo of the inside of the trailer looking outward. Could

be a trafficking victims point-of-view of the world from the back of

a shipping container. Very suggestive and dark in an aesthetic

    sense.

The light (and shadow) had a direct contribution tot the meaningof this photograph. Themes of Dark and Light, Bad and good,

    play across this photo.

The composition of this shot, uses the the lines of this space to

lead us to the light at the end of the “tunnel/trailer” so to speak. A

possible hope for the person whos POV this is...

I picked this photo because I liked the re-

peated shapes, the patterns of light and

shadow across the wall, the contrast and

colors. I think this is photo a reflection of a

lamp and its shafts of patterned light. But

its much more than that. Its a photo of an

altered state of reality. Symbolically Itsabout what we perceive to be real and

what we imagined, a visual chaotic repre-

sentation of human thought. The blurred

soft focus of the light and the lamp gives it

    a “dream/ or mind altered”aesthetic.

The reason why I picked this photograph was because of thefluffy clouded sky ad the Liberty Tower. This is a photograph of

the Liberty Tower, a symbol of tenacity and hope for New York

city and the world. The natural daylight, allows us to see the

blues and whites clearly, the reflection off the sides of liberty tow-

ers provides us with a sense of tranquility and serenity. For a mo-

ment I am transported back to that day, when the worlds seemed

uncertain, and I felt powerless, but angry, then I look at this photo

    and I am inspired.

What I love about this photograph is the

repeated frame within a frame elements,

the lines that form the railings, the texture

of the wooden planks on the bench, the

hopeful cloudless blue sky, and the liberty

tower in the center of it all.

I admire the way Justine uses diagonal

lines to draw us closer to the center of the

    frame.

This photo caught my attention because it reminded me aboutthe many different persona’s we put on like masks on a daily ba-

sis. Its only when we see our reflections that we become aware of

    how others perceive us.

I admire Rokiatou’s framing and composition. They way the light

highlights the woman’s face and her reflection. The separations of

the right and left side by the window itself. This is one of my fa-

    vorite photos this semester.

I was drawn to this photo because of the

warm golden orange and yellow colors of

the sun setting on the horizon.

The light plays a significant role in this pho-

tos composition and framing, Mike has

demonstrated that he as an eye for such

visual spectacle as can be seen in his

    other photographs.

I chose this photograph because of its emotional impact. Twinbeams of light illuminate the night sky in place where the twin tow-

ers once stood. Reminding us of the lives lost that day, and the

    solidarity of the American People.

Simply this is a photo graph of lights beamed up into the night

sky. or God shining his holy light onto the earth below. The light-

ing is the subject of this photo. It framing and composition flaw-

less. One of my favorites photographs.

Nan’s Photo, reminds me of a time with I

felt defeated. Those emotions rush back to

me when I look at this photo. Makes me

want to give this boy a hug and tell him eve-

rything is going to be ok. The shallow focus

forces us to feel this boys emotional state.

The dominant shades of blue, solidify our

    emotional reaction.

I chose this image because of it is neo-noir feel. Thelight from the lantern dunks the man in and out of

darkness giving the noir mood. This photo makes me

ask a lot of questions. Is he waiting for someone? is

he injured? how did he get here. Are there other men

next to the lights in the background?I love Paula’s

composition, and the carefully shot background ele-

    ments that fuels my imagination.

I chose this photo because I like the way

the liquid in the jar distorted the space

behind it. This is a photo of a soapy

water filled jar on a window sill. It could

be a laboratory experiment gone wrong.

    Or a home brew.

The look of sadness in the eyes

of the drum-less boy on the right.

grabbed my attention. Its like he

is telling me something. It is a

photograph of two boys on the

street in New Orleans, playing for

    tips.The lighting fully illuminates

the scene here. Opening the ex-

posure to the mishmash of colors.

    Blue, Green white, Brown, Reds.
