BSDi, INC, Concord, CA 2000 – 2001Vice President, Open Source Technologies Directed the engineering and marketing efforts of the open source engineering group. Served as the principal release engineer for all FreeBSD release products. WALNUT CREEK CDROM, Concord, CA 1994 – 2000Chief Technology Officer Founded, developed and promoted The FreeBSD open source operating system which was

a 4.4 BSD Lite based operating system for the Intel Architecture (PC platform). Managed the system which provided everything from their industrial-strength anonymous ftp

server, internal routing, DNS, WWW, and NFS services.  Acted as the release engineer for all FreeBSD CD release products.INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR, Dublin, Ireland 1993– 1994Consultant Designed and implemented an automated product testing and verification suite based on the

TCL language for Aldiscon Information Systems. Participated in the development team in optimizing the product and verifying compliance

with internal specifications in C on the Tandem, Stratus and HP PA/RISC platforms. Worked on the design and implementation of the network management system for Digital

Equipment Corporation. Prototyped messaging protocols and parts of the user interface in C++ on NT, ALPHA

OSF/1 and VMS platforms.LOTUS DEVELOPMENT CORP, Dublin, Ireland 1992– 1993Consultant/Principle Engineer Worked on porting the AmiPro (now Lotus Word) word processor application to use

OpenLook and run on several UNIX platforms.  Ported NOTES to the Sun (SunOS 4.1.3) and SCO ODT 2.0 platforms.  Continued development on AmiPro, on the Sun and IBM RS6000/AIX platforms using the

Motif development environment which included substantial liaison work with the US group. Directed the development network and designed new methods for managing software

development in a highly heterogeneous networking environment. M aintained and developed Lotus 1-2-3 for all UNIX platforms.
