* Measuring immigration of Tunisians and Foreigners through several questions in the individual form in the Population Census 2004 (RGPH 2004):

- Country of birth

-Country of citizenship

- Country of residence in April 1999 (i.e. 5 years before the census date)

- Main reason of immigration (occupation, education, marriage, family reunification, definitive return, ...)

* Measuring emigration of Tunisians through an emigration module:

Identification of each person residing abroad who is member of a family nucleus and was residing within an household in April 1999

Each household consists of one or more family nuclei

The family nucleus is composed of:

- Couple with children

- Couple without children

- Mother widowed or divorced with children

- Woman widowed or divorced wihout children

- Father widow or divorced with children

- Man widow or divorced without children
