Join us for our annual Spring Luncheon! ‘Getting to Know You’
Things are stirring at GTFWC!
Join us in welcoming Jenny
“Souper Jenny” Levinson as
guest speaker at our annual
Spring Luncheon! Jenny will
share her stories and inspira-
tions with GTFWC as actress,
single mom, and owner of
Planet Jenny, a collection of
cafes geared to nourishing
your mind, body and spirit!
The reception begins at 11:00
am with punch and appetizers!
You can “get to know” Jenny,
browse display tables, and
chat with friends before the
program begins. Be there as
we announce the winner of
this year’s Friendship Award

scholarship recipients. As al-
ways, we will vote on our slate

President’s Corner
Dear Members,
All I can think to say is
“Bravo!” to all of you who
helped make our last few
months’ events such fun,
interesting, and memora-
ble experiences – Senka
Petrovic, Bonnie Daneker,
Beth Finn, Marie Johnson, Karen Mayne, Ciku Gachugi, Jen-
nifer Lux, Sheila Isbell, Sylvia Mallarino-Bras, and all of our
community service volunteers. You are a terrific group of
ladies and I applaud you! Be sure to view our Scrapbook
next September to reminisce. But there is more to come,
as there always is, in the GTFWC! Look for details in the
following notices.
This has been a very busy year not only with our usual ac-
tivities, but also with the task set before us to update our
Bylaws. With the help of an appointed Ad Hoc Committee,
our Board Members, and Past Presidents, a proposal has
been prepared and is ready for presentation for vote at the
Spring Luncheon. I look forward to sharing a preview of
the proposal at our March PIRCH event. My heart-felt
thanks to all those involved in the process. Also at that
time our 2016-17 slate of Officers will be presented. Join
us at PIRCH to discover who they shall be!
I wish to thank our Scholarship Chair, Christina Choi, who
did an excellent job drawing student applications, and
heading the committee to select our five recipients. Recip-
ient names will be announced at the Spring Luncheon.
One of the best experiences I have had in the Georgia
Tech community has been serving as your President for the
past two years. What a great Club this is, and the proof is
in the pudding!

FRIENDSHIP NOTES
GTFWC extends sincere sympathy to the family of Christine Boteler, who
passed away September 28, 2015, only a few weeks before her 97th birthday.
Christine was a longtime active member, and later, an honorary member of the
Georgia Tech Faculty Women’s Club. Christine’s widower, Winston Boteler, is retired
faculty from Polymer, Textiles and Fiber Engineering.
GTFWC also extends sincere sympathy
to the family of Ellen Weatherly who
passed away on November 17, 2015.
Ellen was a longtime active member of
the Georgia Tech Faculty Women’s Club,
whose husband, Thomas L. Weatherly,
had been a faculty member of the Georgia Tech School of Physics until his passing
in 1982. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the TL Weatherly
Scholarship Fund, through the Georgia Tech Foundation.
Congratulations are in order for
Carole Teja upon the 30th anni-
versary of her presidency of the
Georgia Tech Faculty Women's
Club! Well done, Carole, as you are
now an Honorary member of the Club!
If there is someone you know in the Georgia Tech Faculty Women's Club who is
celebrating a joy, mourning a loss, or needs a note of encouragement during a life
challenge, we would be happy to send a note of support on behalf of the GTFWC.
Simply send your request to Kathy McDowell, Friendship Chair, at

Wanted! Your Photos
Please remember to send photos from club
events to [email protected]. She may
use them in the annual club Photo Album.
Thank you, we need your pictures for the yearbook!
Be sure to come
to the Spring
Luncheon!
The speaker at this year's spring luncheon is Jenny
"Souper Jenny" Levinson. It should be a very interest-
ing key note speech. In honor of the soup theme,
we are asking members to submit their favor-
ite soup or stew recipes. We will share these reci-
pes with our fellow members at the Spring lunch-
eon. We would like to receive at least 20-30 recipes
by March 30th in order to produce the booklet in
time. Any stories behind the recipes would be an
added bonus. Please submit your recipes to:
Marie Johnson at [email protected].
Remember to send in your Recipes!!
