THE LITURGICAL MINISTERS’ SCHEDULE FOR NOV 28 AND 29

GLOBAL CATHOLIC CLIMATE MOVEMENT The Global Catholic Climate Movement is now collecting signatures around the world to show our leaders that we

support Pope Francis’ encyclical on the environment. Would you like to join the Pope in caring for creation by

signing the Catholic Climate Petition which he has endorsed? On November 30, world leaders will begin meeting

at the U.N. climate summit in Paris with the goal of signing a treaty to tackle climate change. The Catholic Climate Petition

aims to collect 1 million signatures to urge our political leaders to commit to ambitious climate action and solve this urgent

crisis, with the goal of keeping the global temperature increase below 1.5 degree Celsius (aligned with the Catholic Bishops’

2014 Lima statement). Please consider adding your name to the petition! Sign within the next few days at

www.CatholicClimateMovement.global/petition/. Petitions will be presented to world leaders on Nov. 28th.

IT’S LEISURE CLUB TIME AGAIN Parishioners 50 and over are welcome to join this

great group for conversation, cards, and games. Join us at

SANTA NEEDS YOU!

AND SO DOES THE CHRISTMAS BAZAAR BAKE SALE It’s not too early to start baking and freezing items to donate to this year’s Christmas Bazaar. We’re

looking for homemade cookies, breads, brownies, cupcakes, and other sweet treats to sell at the baked goods

table on Saturday, December 5. Single-layer decorated cakes, fudge, and Rice Krispy treats are always popular

as well. We’d love to have a batch or two of whatever your specialty is. All items should be well wrapped and labeled.

Donations should be dropped off at St. Helen School office on Friday, December 4.

Please support St. Helen School PTO by baking/donating to this event. It can’t be a success without your help! Contact Lat-

asha Blake Hubbard at [email protected] or Jackie Skiple at

[email protected] if you have any questions.

ADVENT EVENING OF RECOLLECTION Dec. 3rd 7--9 pm

Si Lounge, Sieben Hall, Mount Saint John You and your friends are cordially invited to an Advent

evening of recollection focused on the Annunciation-

Incarnation. An interconnection with our celebration of the Jubi-

lee of Mercy comes from Thomas Merton who wrote: "Yet the

best thing of all is the love of the Virgin Mother of God, who

never offended Him, but who received from Him the greatest

mercy of all: that of knowing her nothingness in the midst of the

greatest perfection, and of being the poorest of all the saints be-

cause she was the richest" (No Man Is An Island, p. 209). Berga-

mo's Jubilee Retreat Guide Anthony Franchina, who was taught

how to lead Ignatian meditations by the Jesuits while working at

Georgetown University, will facilitate this prayerful experience

complete with an Application of the Senses. You may register

for this free will offering event by calling the Bergamo Center at

937-426-2363. or online at the Bergmo Center website: http://

www.bergamocenter.org/ under the Jubilees tab.
