The Ocelots is a group whose long-standing relationship with San Diego Zoo Global (SDZG) affords its members unique opportunities to expand their Zoo and Safari Park experiences, while demonstrating their support for SDZG.

Among the many benefits of membership in the Ocelots is the ability to get an insider’s view of SDZG’s workings, in terms of goals, as well as its day-to-day operations. Our bimonthly dinner programs allow you to interact not only with some of your favorite animals, but also with SDZG staff from a variety of different disciplines.

This includes frequent presentations by Dr. Ollie Ryder, famous for his humor and insight, in what are popularly known as “Ollie Minutes.” Our members also enjoy special events at the Zoo, Safari Park, San Diego Zoo Institute for Conservation Research, and other venues of interest that offer educational experiences not available to the general public.

Funds raised during the course of the year are used to underwrite grants for much-needed items requested by departments within SDZG.

In the past, the Ocelots have purchased everything from Boomer Balls® for the polar bears to lab equipment used by the Safari Park’s veterinary hospital.

The benefits of Ocelots membership are numerous. In addition to being invited to bimonthly educational dinner programs and occasional special events, you will receive a subscription to the Oceletter, a bimonthly newsletter for the Ocelots. You will also have the satisfaction of being actively involved in supporting the fundraising and educational goals of San Diego Zoo Global.
