It is also the town with the oldest vine in the world (450 years old). Therefore VCCT Maribor and BELVIN Wine School are keen to host this exciting seminar where the partici- pants will be able to achieve the internationally approved certificates of WSET®. WHAT IS WSET®? WSET works through a network of Approved Programme Providers around the world. The trust works with an extensive network of over 400 third-party teaching and examination centres, known as Approved Programme Providers, in over 50 countries around the world who offer one or more of their qualifica- tions. VOCATIONAL COLLEGE FOR CATERING AND TOURISM MARIBOR

The WSET® Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits The aim of the course is to focus on the key grape varieties and regions of the world, and principle varie-ties of spirits. The theoretical part will be strongly supported with practical tasting, food and wine pairing.

The Old Vine Festival in Maribor is the main event in the cycle of events From Vine to Wine, from pruning to St Martin’s Day celebrations, which we prepare in the honour of the Old Vine, the oldest vine in the world. The Old Vine is Maribor’s greatest ethnographic sight, which symbolises the rich wine culture of Maribor and Štajerska region.

Robert Gorjak, a lecturer with international experiences is going to offer up-to-date and competent knowledge.

Once you obtain the The WSET® Level 1 Award in Wines or The WSET® Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits you can apply to use the certified logo.

The WSET® Level 2 Awards in Wines and Spirits- How wine is made and other factors influencing the style of wine- Key white and black grape varieties- Wine producing regions of the world- Sparkling wines- Sweet wines and fortified wines- Spirits and liquors- Label terminology- Food and wine pairing

PRICEThe seminar price for a double room: 700 EUR/person, price for a single room: 720 EUR/person. The price does not cover only the course but also several other activities, including the stay and meals.

NOTE: The price does not include travel costs to Maribor and back.
