Tour ItinerarySunday – We travel to the Sussex Coast,making a stop at the impressive HamptonCourt Palace en route, with time for lunch.Arriving in Eastbourne, there is time to relaxand settle in.Monday – We pay a visit to Nymans (NT).Set in the High Weald with splendid views,the garden is a series of experimentaldesigns with spectacular planting andbeauty all year. Both a horticulturalist’sdream and a peaceful country garden,it is easy to lose yourself in its intimateand surprising corners.Tuesday – Sheffield Park (NT) is amagnificent informal landscaped gardenand was laid out in the 18th century byCapability Brown. Four lakes form thecentrepiece and the plants and trees arespectacular.Wednesday – Today is free to relax andenjoy the leisurely atmosphere of Eastbourne.Thursday – One of the great Royal gardensof Windsor Great Park, the charming SavillGarden was created in the late 1930’s.This ornamental garden has 35 acres ofcontemporary and classically designedgardens and one of the world’s finestexotic woodland gardens. We also visit beautifulBuckfast Abbey, home to a community ofBenedictine monks. There is time to exploreand enjoy this inspirational place before wereturn to Sidmouth.Friday – We enjoy a guided tour whichtakes in the unique and diverse beauty ofTorbay and its three towns of Torquay,Paignton and Brixham. Castles of KentKent is steeped in history and heritage and is known as the‘Garden of England’ due to its rolling hills, wooded valleys andfar reaching open landscapes. The highlights of our interestingand varied tour are the magnificent castles of Kent.

Tour ItineraryThursday – Travelling south, we make astop at the town of Tunbridge Wells, theonly spa town in South West England with400 years of history. There is time for lunchhere before we continue to the hotel,arriving mid afternoon.Friday – Today we visit Leeds Castle, set ontwo islands on the River Len and said to bethe loveliest castle in the world and in afairytale setting, it is all that a castle shouldbe. You can visit the treasure-filled StateRooms and wonder at the glorious gardensand park land, and perhaps venture into thechallenging maze. There is plenty of time todiscover the fascinating history of thisstriking monument.Saturday – One of the best known cities inEngland, Canterbury’s old city is small andcontained within the city walls. Presidingover all is of course the magnificentcathedral, St. Augustine’s Abbey and St.Martin’s Church. The day is free to explorethis atmospheric city at leisure.Sunday – We visit Hever Castle, anenchanting double moated castle with 125acres of garden to explore, and once thechildhood home of Anne Boleyn. We returnhome to the Midlands in the afternoon.

Tour ItineraryFriday – We travel north, where we make astop at the National Memorial Arboretum inStaffordshire, where there is time to exploreand to have lunch. We continue to Leeds,with time to settle in and enjoy our hotel’sfacilities.Saturday – This morning is free to explorethe regenerated and much underrated cityof Leeds. Perhaps visit nearby RoyalArmouries Museum, which is home to theUK’s collection of arms and armour orbrowse the wide variety of high street andindividual shops in the Victoria Quarter. Wemeet back at the hotel before departing forthe matinee performance of ‘The Good OldDays’, joining in with the banter and all theold songs. Many people have fondmemories of ‘The Good Old Days’ and thetheatre used for the series, the world-famous ‘City Varieties Music Hall’.

Sunday – We return home via the beautifulscenery of the Peak District, making a stopfor an included traditional Sunday lunch.

Tour ItineraryFriday – We travel through North Wales toHolyhead for our afternoon sailing toDublin, then on to our hotel in Bray wherewe are met with a quenching welcomedrink.Saturday – Today we explore the scenicbeauty of the Wicklow Mountains and makea stop at Powerscourt House and Gardens,an example of one of the world’s finestgardens. We then head to Glendalough, anancient monastic site, then travel via thebeautiful wooded Vale of Clara to Avoca, thesetting of the popular BBC series‘Ballykissangel’.Sunday – After a hearty breakfast wehead to Dublin to witness the worldfamous St. Patrick’s Day Parade. You willbe entertained by an awesome display ofcreative talents, as international and Irishbands join performers, dancers and streettheatre companies. We return to our hotelin the early evening, for dinner followed byentertainment.Monday – A full day excursion to CountyKildare, synonymous with Irish horseracing.Our first stop is the Irish National Stud andJapanese Gardens, where we take a guidedtour through the paddocks and yard andfree time to explore the museum.
