John, yesterday my family and I attended your annual “A Day To Remember” at the Coleman Country DayCamp. I wanted to send you this e-mail to let you know that you did more than gave us the opportunity tohave a great time, you saved a family.

My family is made up of five children, three of which have special needs. The pressure of constantlytaking care of my three needy children puts a real strain on me, my husband and my “normal” two children.

In the past couple of months things had become so hectic that there was constant bickering, threats ofdivorce, threats of running away, etc. etc. etc.

Well, yesterday we all came together as a family and had so much fun. We realized that we are not alonein our struggle to give to our needy siblings/children.

We played together, laughed together, and ate together — and we were reminded that we are a familythat must stick together.

You truly gave us a day to remember and a new lease on life. Thank you.

— Valerie

BACK TO SCHOOL PROGRAMBACK TO SCHOOL PROGRAMBACK TO SCHOOL PROGRAMBACK TO SCHOOL PROGRAMBACK TO SCHOOL PROGRAM

The Back to School Program will help underprivileged children from low-incomefamilies. Children in Kindergarten through High School will be provided withback to school clothes and school supplies for the 2006-2007 school year. Each child will receive new clothes to wear including everything from socks andunderwear to shirts, pants, and new shoes. The supplies will include but not belimited to backpacks, spiral notebooks, pencils and pens and other classroomnecessities.

Back to school time can be difficult for many children whose families cannotafford new clothes or school supplies. Every child should have a chance toattend school and feel good about themselves. Studies have shown that manychildren do not attend the first day of school because they are too embarrassedthat they do not have new supplies and clothing. New clothes and school suppliesare all significant items for a child who would otherwise go without.

The children will be given a profile page to fill out which will include: theirname, age, sex, favorite color, clothing size, shoe size, what their preferencesare as far as dresses or pants for girls and sportswear or plain clothes forboys. These children will be carefully selected through agencies and centers. The distribution will take place in late August or early September before theirfirst day of school.

The children who have benefited from our donations in the past have made usrealize there is a greater need out there and we are hoping to promote higherself-esteem as these children begin their new school year.

Hello my name is Muriel and the reason for writing to you is to thank you forthe recent donation on school clothes and supplies my kids just receive.

I’m a single mother of 7 kids. My older son 19 is in the Air Force and I have a13 year old boy, and a 9 year old girl (only girl in the family). And I have 4 fosterkids ages 16, 15, 14, 13, all boys and also special ed.

Five of my kids are in the Big Brother Big Sister Program and that’s how weheard from you, so I just wanted to thank you and to let you know who is gettingsome of your donations and how thankful we are.

God Bless you.Muriel
