OUR SECOND COLLECTION NEXT SUNDAY IS FOR……

MAINTENANCE & REPAIR

Dear Parishioners,

“May I please have this or that.” “Please say yes, please, please, please.”

How many times have we heard those persistent cries from a child in our family? And how many times do we give in because the child has been so persevering in their request! In today’s Gospel, Jesus speaks of the persistent widow. She just haunts the unjust judge to a point where he finally gives in to her. The lesson of course is not to be the adult who surrenders and grants the request. But Jesus calls us to be like the widow – persistent and steadfast in our prayer. Here are a few things to remember about “haunting God”!

Persistence is an act of confidence in God’s love for us! God’s answer will be given at the right time – God’s time! During the waiting period, we can grow in trust and in love! There is no such thing as an unanswered prayer! There are sometimes unexpected answers to our prayers!

So, let’s keep believing, let’s keep praying, let’s keep “haunting God”!

Love, Sister Eleanor

P.S. God loves to be haunted!!

A FEW WEEKS REMAINING!!

LET’S KEEP UP OUR MOMENTUM!!!

Our Increased Offertory Program has seen a tremendous level of support. With over 170 responses and an average offertory increase of 41% we invite every household to consider participating in this important endeavor.

Thank you to all those who have responded thus far. Our parish community continues to be supportive by making their intention to this effort. In doing so we are able to better serve the needs of our community through our ministries, faith formation opportunities and social concerns programs.

THIS IS OUR FINAL COMMITMENT WEEKEND!!!

Everyone will have the opportunity at Mass this weekend to make their commitment to our Increased Offertory Program. Commitment Brochures, envelopes and pencils are available in the pews.

We invite you and every registered household to consider taking a step, or two, in your contribution to the parish by increasing your Sunday offering by 20%-50%.

You may also use the envelope provided, if you are not prepared to respond today, and return your completed brochure via USPS, place it in the Sunday collection basket, or you may bring it directly to the parish office.

Stewardship Reflection: 29th Sunday in Ordinary Time “…proclaim the word, be persistent whether it is convenient or inconvenient...” 2 T 4:2 It is not always convenient to be a good steward, especially when all the temptations of our busy and materialistic world get in the way. Now add our own pride and ego into the equation and living a stewardship lifestyle may be downright uncomfortable! Remember, God didn’t call us to be comfortable. He called us to be faithful.

With praise and thanksgiving to Almighty God, the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter joyfully announces the ordination of Rev. Mr. William Rock, to the holy Priesthood on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at St. Mary’s Church, Providence, RI at 10:30 am. Rev. Rock will celebrate a First Mass in the Extraordinary Form (Traditional Latin Mass) on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 7:00 pm here at St. Aloysius. Msgr. Emery and Rev. Mr. Rock cordially invite the members of the parish and the Caldwell community to attend this solemn celebration. First Blessings and a dessert reception will follow the Mass. Ministry to the Homebound and Sick

Dear Friends, As you know some of our parishioners, are sick and homebound and unable to come to Church for Liturgy and the Sacraments. Many thanks to the many parishioners who visit these wonderful parishioners and pray with them and bring them Holy Communion. We invite all the Ministers for the Homebound and Sick to participate in evening of reflection on:

We invite anyone who is interested in this Ministry to join us.

Many thanks, Deacon Raj and Sister Eleanor

Our Parish is so grateful to all our women and men who presently work so hard to make sure our Church is in tip top shape.

DO YOU HAVE FIVE MINUTES A DAY? DO YOU WORRY ABOUT

OUR WORLD TODAY?

We would like to invite you to become part of the LIVING ROSARY. This activity was started at Saint Aloysius Parish a number of years ago as a means of joining our prayers together to pray for peace in our country and for all our special intentions. It is also in response to people’s needs for greater spiritual growth. At this time we have several teams of 5 members each participating in our living rosary. It is a power house of prayer!

This activity may be taken on by anyone. Families can participate, the home bound can become part of the Living Rosary; persons on their way to work can join also. There are no meetings to attend.

What is necessary to become part of the Living Rosary is a commitment to say one decade of the Rosary each day. You then become a member of a team who together says the entire rosary each day. It is said for the intentions of those members comprising the Living Rosary and for the specific and special intentions of our parish. It can be done at home, in the car, on the train, and any time of your day.

The Rosary has been used for centuries for world peace, against the heresy of the times, during the Nazi occupation of Poland and at many other times. This is a simple devotion, parish oriented, that demands little of its members and produces great spiritual results.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the LIVING ROSARY. Please complete below and drop at rectory or call Dee Taylor 973-226-0209 x 32. We will then contact you to coordinate the groups and mysteries of the Rosary.

I am interested in becoming a member of the Living Rosary:
