READING REFLECTIONS
Reading I: Acts 2: 14, 22-23 Here is the core teaching message of the early Church used by her missionary Apostles. It is a short summary of our Lord’s works, death and resurrection. Reading II: I Peter 1: 17-21 Christ’s blood releases us from the power of sin. You must be holy because of this incomparable gift. The Gospel: Luke 24: 13-35 A wonderful meeting of two disheartened disciples (representing all of us) with Jesus on the road to Emmaus. The scenario ends with a Eucharistic liturgy: there is a Scripture reading followed by an explanation, capped off by the breaking of the bread before Jesus vanishes.

In light of the continued spread of Covid-19 and in keeping with Governor Lamont’s Executive Order of April 10th
mandating the cancellation of school classes and the extension of closures of non-essential businesses through May 20th, the Archdiocese has extended the cancellation of public Masses and liturgies until further notice. Fr. Crowley will still celebrate the daily Mass alone, with no members present, remembering in prayer all who have been affected by the pandemic, and will continue to also remember the Mass intentions that were originally scheduled for that specific day. If there was no Mass intention, the Mass will be said for the people of our parish and all those affected by the virus.
Archbishop Blair has directed that all publicly scheduled confessions be suspended until further notice.
St. Thomas Church, St. Casimir Church and Immaculate Conception Church will be open M - F from 9 AM - 3 PM, for private prayer. Please practice the social distancing mandates in place at this time.
Stay connected to our parish during the pandemic with our website and Parish App. Visit stmkp.org for news and information updates from our parish and the Archdiocese. Look under the Parish News tab for updates. To download the Parish App, visit myparishapp.com or your device’s app store (look for myparishapp) and download today to stay connected. You will find daily readings, prayers, reflections, the Catholic Transcript, Archdioc-esan news as well as our bulletin. We will also keep you up to date with important notifications sent from our
Vocat ions As the disciples journeyed with Jesus,
their hearts were burning within them as He explained the scriptures. They were overjoyed when they recognized Him in the breaking of the bread. They returned to Jerusalem, and told the all the Good News. If you feel the call to share the Good News with others, contact Fr. Michael Casey, Director of Vocations, at 860 761 7456, or email [email protected], or you may visit online at hartfordpriest.com. 931-4

A Prayer for Healing
Father, we thank you for all the blessings in our life;
For the very world in which we live and for The health and strength you
have bestowed upon us. Thank you for Christ Jesus, our risen Savior,
Who takes away the sins of the world. Have mercy on us God,
as we ask now for healing. The stripes Christ endured provided healing
and power over illness. Lord direct that healing Toward our fellow Christians who suffer,
Who believe you can and will restore them to full health.
We believe you have already provided our healing, Father.
Thank you for being our Great Physician. In faith, believing, we accept your gift of
restoration and thank you for it. All glory and honor and praise be to God,
from whom all blessings flow. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray to you,
Amen.

Youth Ministry
All are welcome to pray with Youth Ministry! As part of Holy Week, our young parishioners recorded the Stations of the Cross. This Sunday watch for our virtual Chaplet of Divine Mercy. These recordings are available anytime for your personal prayer on our Parish’s social media. We are looking for student or family volunteers to help us prepare a virtual Rosary for the month of Mary. Anyone interested, please contact Katrina by May 1st at [email protected] or 860 506 6092.
Teens and their families are welcome to join us for ProjectYM Live each Sunday evening. Each week it will feature some of the best known speakers and worship leaders in the Catholic youth ministry world. To join, all you have to do is head to PROJECTYM.COM/WATCH at 8 PM. If you want to join our group chat during the event, please email [email protected]. Join 3,000 teens from throughout the U.S. for three days of fellowship, faith, and awesome music at Steubenville, NYC from July 24-26, 2020. The event is open to those entering 9th grade through graduating seniors. Please contact Katrina at 860 506 6092 or at the above email address.
The Archbishop's Annual Appeal provides help to those in need! Together, we can and do make a
difference in the lives of many individuals and families, in a way that exceeds anything we could hope to achieve on our own. Please consider supporting this important initiative. Every gift makes a difference. Organizations such as Social Services Crisis Fund in Thomaston and Plymouth Community Food Pantry and Plymouth Fuel Bank in Terryville received funding from the Appeal’s Vicariate Outreach Program which serves our local neighbors. All funds contributed to the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal are used exclusively for the purposes outlined in the Appeal literature, which can be found at archdioceseofhartford.org/appeal/.
With Masses cancelled until further notice in the Archdiocese of Hartford, we would like to take this opportunity to offer televised Mass options. As Catholics, attending Mass is more than a habit or obligation, it is time spent with our Lord. Facebook - Father Crowley will stream Mass on Sunday’s at 10 AM on Facebook at https://m.facebook.com/STMKP/. The link is also on our website, stmkp.org. ORTV - The television Mass is broadcast seven days a week at 10 AM on WCCT-TV (WB20) and WCTX-TV (MyTV9). It can also be seen on Saturday and Sunday at 5 AM on WCCT-TV. The Mass is also streamed live at these time and can be found at http://ortv.org/streaming/TV_Mass_stream.htm.
