CLINICAL ACTIVITIES (March 2013) . This level of clinical activity is

representative of efforts on average for the past 4 years.

Adult Neurology Inpatient Ward or Consults. Eight weeks per year. Rotations are 1 to 2 weeks at a time. Although these are full weeks with clinical rounds several times per day and many notes to sign, resident, intern and student participation facilitate clinical service while providing multiple teaching opportunities. Clinic. Includes one full day per week seeing patients newly referred for evaluation of headache, and one half day per week seeing follow-up patients. Weeks when I am on an inpatient rotation, I see only add-on patients.

Clinic. It also includes one day per week at Central Prison in Raleigh where I see between 8 and 12 new and return inmate patients per session referred for evaluation of neurological problems. Inpatient consultation is in the prison hospital also provided on those days. There are no residents, fellows or students.

Clinic. It also includes one day per month at Women’s Correctional Facility in Raleigh seeing between 8 and 12 new and return inmate patients per session referred for evaluation of neurological problems. There are no residents, fellows or students.

Complementary and Alternative Medicine Consultation Requests. Currently developing a multidisciplinary consult team to respond to requests by UNC clinical faculty and UNC-based patients. Numbers have grown to 3-5 per month, primarily from Oncology and GI Services.
