Welcome Class of 1967Like chaff in a whirlwind you have scattered to the four

corners of this great land of ours and beyond. From Climax, MIto Lubbock, TX and Seattle, WA to Port St. Lucie, FL you are, hopefully, wending your way to the quaint little hamlet ofHockessin, DE for your 40th reunion. To those of you who haveattended any or all of the previous reunions, welcome back,we’ve enjoyed your company. If this is your first or you’ve comea far distance, then welcome home, it’s been a while.

Forty plus years ago the torch of civic responsibility waspassed from a weary war-torn generation to us, their children, who in turn commenced to stand the world on its ear. We aregathered tonight to celebrate those tumultuous times; thedramatic changes in the arts and social attitudes, the healingfrom our own military struggles, and the perpetuation of ageneration that insisted that we “do it our way.” Why not usethis evening to renew old acquaintances, dance with yourhoney, and answer decades-old questions like “what everhappened to ………”? So, pull up a chair and spin me a yarn. The weather’s hot, my dancing is not, but the last call is notuntil twelve. Do enjoy yourselves and we hope to see you againin 2017.

Your attention please. Would the couple from Montana thatleft their horses with the parking valet guy please report to thelot? Something about…an exhaust emissions problem…..

My hobbies are skiing, hiking, backpacking, canoeing, cooking, gardening, and reading(okay, that one is a vice for me!). I am a registered nurse whoneeded to reinvent myself with every military move. Because ofthis, I have enjoyed many different positions and opportunities. After school nursing, working three days a week does feel like“being retired”. Dal continues to practice dentistry part time.My biggest enjoyment in life is visiting with friends and seeingmy children and their families. If I had known what my futurewould be like after McKean, at graduation I would have tossedmy cap in the air for joy!

We may wind up moving again afterretirement. I plan to work until full retirement age. FUJIFILM Imaging Colorants, Inc.)I am a 1972 UD graduate. I retired in 2004 after 34 years in

the chemical industry (predecessors of what is now AstraZeneca)as Commercial Operations Manager. Company globalheadquarters were in Europe, with offices and customers inEurope, Asia, South America, Australia, and the U.S.; therefore, Itraveled quite a bit, mostly in UK and US. As anyone whotravels for work knows, it isn’t as glamorous as it might sound, but it has afforded the opportunity to see places. My husbandretired from Temple University, his alma mater and employer for24 years in Broadcasting and Television. For some reason Imissed the motherhood gene; I didn’t get married until I was 32,therefore, we never had children. But we are happily aunt anduncle to several nieces, nephews, and now great-nephews. Stanand I are in the process of selecting our future retirement location– somewhere with a golf course in the community or close by.Stan is a really good tennis player and golfer. I still struggle to getof the knot on the rope (just like in high school!) but I did takeup golf about 20 years ago. My hobbies are cooking and baking(somewhat of a gourmet – who’d have thunk!). I had a bilateralhip replacement in 2003 due to arthritis – no problems. Bottomline: I’m still a happy “kid” at heart and am looking forward toseeing my classmates.
