FUEL TANK, FUEL PUMP, AND PIPES
Fig. 80.70.7-Fuel Tank
DESCRIPTION
The fuel tank (Fig. 80-10-1) is positioned in front of the radiator and inside the grille housing. An electric fuel gauge sending unit is mounted on the right side of the tank.
A shut-off valve is located directly beneath the fuel tank. The fuel tank outlet pipe connects to the diaphragm-type fuel pump (Fig. 80-10-2), mounted on the right side of the engine, and driven by the engine camshaft.
Fuel flows from the tank to the inlet side of the pump through pipe "A". A sediment bowl on the pump filters out foreign particles or dirt from the fuel before it is pumped through pipe "B" to the carburetor, on the left side of the engine.
SERVICING FUEL PUMP
The sediment bowl on the fuel pump should be cleaned every 600 hours of operation. Remove the sediment bowl by unscrewing retaining cap at top.
After the sediment bowl is removed (Fig. 80-10-3), remove the fuel pump strainer screen

by lifting up. Clean both the sediment bowl and strainer screen thoroughly.
No further service is necessary_ If the pump should fail, it is recommended that either a new or rebuilt pump be installed rather than attempting to repair the inoperative pump.

Drain transmission and differential case. Drain oil from final drive gear housings
(Fig. 150-15-1). Disconnect battery ground strap. If tractor is equipped with 3-point hitch re
move lift links and draft links (Fig. 150-15-1). If tractor is equipped with drawbar, remove
entire drawbar support assembly (Fig. 150-15-2).
Block front wheels of tractor, to prevent rolling, and raise rear end of tractor with jack or hoist so that rear wheels just clear the floor.
Remove rear wheels. If tractor is equipped with breakaway cou
plers, perform the following disassembly of the tractor before attempting to remove final drive units.

Fig. 200-10-1 - Deluxe Seat
DESCRIPTION
The deluxe seat (Fig. 200-10-1) has a large contoured foam cushion, a lower "wrap around" back support cushion, and a flexibly mounted upper back cushion.
An adjustable, coil spring and shock absorber suspension system is located in the lower seat frame. Turning the weight adjusting screw clockwise increases tension on the suspension spring. A weight indicator arm is visible thru an opening in the left side of the seat frame.
When the latch handle is lifted, an adjustable spring and cable reel assembly moves the seat to its extreme rearward position. Then when the operator sits down, the seat will move forward into position.
A position selector lever determines the seat position along the rail, depending on the operator's height. The seat position adjustment must' be made while the seat is in the extreme rearward position.

REMOVAL
If the tractor does not have a rockshaft, remove the seat support cover. On tractors witha rockshaft, remove the rockshaft covers. Disconnect the electrical wiring harness and clip (Fig. 200-10-2). Detach the rear lamps and remove the seat.

TROUBLE SHOOTING
Group 5 INDEX TO DIFFICULTIES
INTRODUCTION
Whenever tractor servi.ce is required due to complaint or failure, you must be able to determine the cause or causes of the trouble and find the quickest and easiest solution.
If you can do this without costly and timeconsuming removal or disassembly, the job will go faster, costs will be reduced, and customerirritating delays may be avoided.
The purpose of this Section is to help you diagnose quickly and easily most of the problems or failures with which you will be faced. Individual Groups of this Section contain difficulties that may develop in a specific component or system of the tractor. For instance, faults or failures that may be found in the tractor engine are given in one Group (Group 10), those that may be found in the electrical system are given in another Group (Group 20), etc. Following each difficulty is a list of the possible causes and their remedies, plus supplementary service information references to other Sections and Groups of this manual.
Using this information as a guide, you can diagnose the trouble by an orderly process of eliminating probable causes one by one until the solution is found.
For ready reference, an index to the common difficulties listed in this Section is provided below.
