Our History…John Crabbie was a true pioneer in

the Scottish whisky industry.

One of the oldest names in Scotch

whisky with the business being

founded in 1801 in Edinburgh.

Records show that Crabbie whisky

was housed at Yardheads in Leith and

this became the home of the original

Crabbie distillery

Our Spirit and CasksOur unpeated spirit is reminiscent of a

Highland style. Our custom made stills

produce a gingery, fruity, and oily spirit

which is built to interface well with both

bourbon and sherry cask maturation

Our peated spirit has a sweet smoky

nose and flavour with underlying fruit

and spice on the palate. The spirit is

peated to 50ppm

Our Bourbon casks are first fill and

sourced directly from the USA

originating in distilleries such as Heaven

Hill and Jack Daniels

For Sherry casks we offer both Pedro

Ximénez and Oloroso casks sourced

from Jerez in Spain

Other cask types (Virgin oak, Red wine, Port etc) are available upon request

FAQ’sQ: What will my cask be worth in the

future?

Scotch Whisky is one of the most

exciting investments you can make but

like any investment it comes with risks

and the value of your investment and the

income from it can go down as well as up

and is not guaranteed at any time. The

chart opposite demonstrates the rise in

value of a similar cask over 4 year period

(Lowlands region, bourbon cask)”

FAQ’sQ: How long should I keep my cask?

A: To be legally Scotch whisky, the spirit must mature in a cask in Scotland for a

minimum of 3 years and 1 day. It is generally accepted that longer maturation produces a

better whisky.

The number of casks available is limited and on a first come first served basis.
