Senior Operations Manager, Discipline and Training Advisor 2015 - Present

Warrant Officer Class 1 (Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM))

Having promoted recently to Warrant Officer Class 1 (Regimental Sergeant Major), there is no greater achievement in a soldier’s career. I am appointed as the senior soldier (RSM) and in this role, provide expert advice to the Executive Management on all current operational matters, training and work related discipline.

I am directly responsible for the development, delivery, control and assurance of all Training and Continuous Professional Development for the workforce, middle and senior management. I have also led with the delivery of Values, Corporate Standards and Values Based Leadership for all employees and have led the development of a Coaching and Mentoring culture in the workplace.

Tasked with overseeing all annual training delivery for five sub-divided workforces (Squadrons) of 100+ employee’s in each workforce, providing the directive and standards to be attained.

Organise, Resource and Project Manage major training events and produce all governing documentation, providing assurance to the strategic management of all aspects from Training Delivery, Health and Safety to the Administration of 450+ employees.

Provide the command triumvirate with policy and guidance on maintaining and improving physical standards and healthy living.

Empower sub-unit trainers, unlocking their potential, giving them ability to achieve promotion.

Responsible for all aspects of fire safety and training for a workforce of 500+ personnel. Manage and delegate all financial, social and facilities management of the senior

Fleet Manager and Transport Co-ordinator 2014 – 2015

Warrant Officer Class 2 (Mechanical Transport Warrant Officer (WO2 (MTWO))

Responsible to the Head of Establishment (HofE) for the operating standards, service forecasting, tasking and use of Ministry of Defence (Army) (MOD(A)) vehicles, including the application of appropriate civil legislation, MOD(A) policy, guidelines and local instructions for a fleet of circa 140 prime movers.

Responsible for the deployment (sea and air), sustainment and recovery of 350 employees, 140 vehicles and associated resources for a period of 4 months on international engagement in four different countries.

Forged a strong team ethos by advocating shared understanding and empowerment, resulting in an agile, flexible and professional workplace culture whilst improving morale and improving output.

Execute the role of “Road Safety Advisor”. Tasked with improving road safety for all drivers, pedestrians and cyclists. One example being for the cyclists “Be Safe Be Seen”, having to work closely with the Staffordshire Borough Council to provide lights, high visibility clothing items and free maintenance checks for all cyclists on MOD Stafford.

Have the lead on introducing sustainable transport initiatives, liaising once again with local councils. Two such initiatives would be “Cycle to Work” and “Car Share”, aimed at reducing congestion for MOD Stafford and minimising the carbon footprint.

Facility and Supply Chain Operations Senior Manager 2007 – 2014

Warrant Officer Class 2 (Regimental Quartermaster Sergeant (RQMS))

Responsible on a daily basis to the HofE for the Logistical Governance and Facilities Management for a sight that employs six smaller employment branches of 150 personnel each. Providing assurance and preparing the location for external assurance audits in accordance with directives and legislation.

Write and develop Logistical Governance Assurance documentation and implement changes and record results for future planning.

Manage the six teams of Logistical Experts within each of six sub-divided employment branches are maintaining stock levels and completing assurance checks in accordance with current guidelines.

Control, execute, sustain and recover the deployment of 300+ personnel, technical communications equipment and vehicles to challenging oversees environments.

Control the main supply chain warehouse, containing over 7000 technical item headings having a value in excess of £500k, whilst trying to develop lean stock management processes.

Manage and facilitate the fielding of a major new communications fleet of vehicles on behalf of the establishment, including the resource management, itinerary check, collection, delivery and formally account for the vehicle borne assets.

Point of contact for all contracted major new works within a facility of 500+employees, whilst maintaining accommodation for 300+ workers.
