“Get up and eat or the journey will be too much for you!” 1 KINGS 19:7

God knows that committing to a stewardship lifestyle is difficult. However, we were not designed to do it on our own, we need His help. Fortunately, God gave us the greatest gift of all, His son, Jesus. Through the gift of the Eucharist we join our sacrifice with the sacrifice of the Holy Mass and receive the strength and courage to be His joyful disciples.

Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time John 6:41-51 Today’s Gospel focuses our attention on our faith in Jesus’ presence in the Eucharist. Jesus is the bread of life. He gives us his Body and Blood as bread so that we may have eternal life. When we receive the Body and Blood of Jesus in the Eucharist, our lives begin to reflect the reality that our communion with Jesus prepares in us. Our Eucharist leads us to live as people of the promise, confident that we will one day share the fullness of life with God. TALK TOGETHER As you gather as a family, talk about our hope that one day we will share eternal life with God in heaven. This hope can transform the way we live our daily lives, calling us to be people of hope and expectation. In today’s Gospel, Jesus promises us this gift of eternal life in the Eucharist. READ TOGETHER Gospel, John 6:41-51. Observe that Jesus taught us that those who listen to God know that Jesus has been sent by God for the life of the world. Jesus fulfills this promise to us through his passion, death, and Resurrection. He gives us the gift of himself in the Eucharist, which is his Body and Blood, given so that we may have eternal life. Conclude in prayer together asking God to increase our faith in Jesus’ presence in the Eucharist. PRAY TOGETHER Act of Faith.

Act of Faith

O my God, I firmly believe that you are one God in three divine

Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe that your divine Son became man and died for our sins and that he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy

Catholic Church teaches because you have revealed them who are eternal truth and wisdom, who can neither deceive nor be deceived. In this faith I intend to live and

die. Amen.

Prayer After Communion

Soul of Christ, sanctify me. Body of Christ, save me. Blood of Christ,

inebriate me. Water from Christ’s side, wash me. Passion of Christ, strengthen me. O good Jesus, hear me. Within Thy

wounds hide me. Suffer me not to be separated from Thee. From the malicious

enemy, defend me. At the hour of my death, call me. And bid me come unto Thee, That I may praise Thee with Thy saints and with Thy angels, forever and

ever. Amen.

Today you will receive a blessing by Fr. Peter to start your new school year. You will also receive a small cross that will be blessed, so be

respectful with it. You can put this cross in your backpack so it will be with you every day at school. Start this school year off well by praying before school every day. A good time to do this is on the way to school.

Pray the Our Father, the Hail Mary and also memorize the Guardian Angel Prayer and the St. Michael Prayer because those would be great for your

school day also. Guardian Angel Prayer: Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom His love entrusts me here, ever this day be at my side to light and guard, to rule

and guide. Amen. St. Michael Prayer: St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl

about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

almas. Amén.
