    ST. PAUL CATHOLIC COMMUNITY

As a body is one though it has many parts, and all the parts of the body, though many, are one body, so also Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free persons, and we were all given to drink of one Spirit. Now the body is not a single part, but many. 1 Corinthians: 12-14

Even though we are separated physically, we are community! Send us your Mass selfies so we can share your smiling faces each week! Email your Mass selfies to [email protected].

    WEEK AT A GLANCE

DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY Saint Faustina: Mankind’s need for the message of Divine Mercy took on dire urgency in the 20th Century, when civilization began to experience an “eclipse of the sense of God” and, therefore to lose the understanding of the sanctity and inherent dignity of human life. In the 1930s, Jesus chose a humble Polish nun, Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska, to receive private revelations concerning Divine Mercy that were recorded in her Diary. Pope Saint John Paul II explains: “This was precisely the time when those ideologies of evil, nazism and communism, were taking shape. Sister Faustina became the herald of the one message capable of off-setting the evil of those ideologies, that fact that God is mercy—the truth of the merciful Christ. And for this reason, when I was called to the See of Peter, I felt impelled to pass on those experiences of a fellow Pole that deserve a place in the treasury of the universal Church.” Divine Mercy Sunday: Saint Faustina’s Diary records 14 occasions when Jesus requested that a Feast of Mercy (Divine Mercy Sunday) be observed. On May 5, 2000, five days after the canonization of Saint Faustina, the Vatican decreed that the Second Sunday of Easter would henceforth be known as Divine Mercy Sunday.

Please pray for the following: Mitch Clark, Nyann Dordan, Rob Dordan, Charlie and Marti Doty, Steven and Elisabeth Gould, Joe

Hajducko, Theresa Hancock, Wanda Horetski, Patricia Krell, Larry Mula, Marie Mula, Ray Neubert, Dolores Oswald, Tom Polaski, Arthur Rivard, Bill Sallee, Anna Skarbek, Nancy Soto, Ramiro Moreno Tejeda, Diane Thompson, William Joseph Werner, Mary Alice Wilson, all Christians around the world suffering persecution, the incarcerated, our military service men and women, and first responders.

PRAYERS O Mary, you always shine on our path as a sign of salvation and of hope.

We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who at the cross took part in Jesus’ pain, keeping your faith firm.

You, Salvation of the Roman People, know what we need, and we are sure you will provide so that, as in Cana of Galilee, we may return to joy and to feasting after this time of trial.

Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who has taken upon himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows to lead us, through the cross, to the joy of the resurrection.

Under your protection, we seek refuge, Holy Mother of God.

Do not disdain the entreaties of we who are in trial, but deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.

    Amen.

Spiritual Communion My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.
