    ABSTARCT

Some larger organizations have a complete automated recruiting process.

Candidates are invited to submit their resumes electronically via the corporate

Internet website or internally via email. In addition to posting specific job

openings, the website will also invite candidates with particular skills or education

to submit their resumes and preferences for inclusion in the corporate resumes

database. These users are asked to complete a standard profile, which enables themto select from among a checklist of competencies and skills, interest areas,

experience, career path objective, etc. This information will be used in scanning

process to help match the candidates profile with future job requirements.

The resume received through the automated website are scanned into database and

screened electronically using key words to match the applicants with specific job

requirements. Some software even provides various online testing devices forscreening purpose. The resulting list of candidates is then forwarded to the

department manager for follow-up & interviewing.

Smaller companies may decide to use online Resume services as a source of

candidates recruitment. These services are often cheaper than advertising & can

    offer additional benefits.

Online recruitment uses the power of the internet to match people to jobs.

Fundamentally , it is about advertising vacancies on either job site or corporate

websites. At this very basic level it is particularly effective at getting a high level

of response. While it may generate hundreds more application than traditional print

advertising, simply attracting more candidates is only part of the job. The current

view is that truly effective online recruitment could be as low as 10% of the top

    blue-chip corporate.

E-Recruitment solution has been developed for helping people to take advantage of

internet revolution & its increased use. E-Recruitment solution is focused on key

procedures that any company uses to collect resumes, hire people such as candidate

database, handling various human resources (HR) requirements identifying

prospective candidates and evaluating them. It is completely customizable to suit

the companys recruitments. So you get what you exactly want.

    OBJECTIVES

The objective of recruiting to find candidates with the skills for a particular

position. Naturally , a company would like to do so as quickly and cheaply as

possible. A small business in particular can achieve such cost efficiency through

    automation.

    Heres how e-business can help:

    Speed up the process :

Eliminate the need to read through piles of resumes.

    Reduce the costs :

Online job posting is a fraction of the cost of advertising.

    Reach special labor segments:

Particular candidates, such as hi-tech workers, are more likely to use online

    methods

    Process Decisions :

E-Recruiting offers automated services for every aspects of recruiting process. But

before small business owners decide to jump into the game, they need to make

    some important decisions like-

yDoes it make sense to automate the process in-house or use online service

yWhat function should you outsource and what should you retain in-

    house????

yHow important is the cost of the function compared to the time it takes and

    WEB DEVELOPMENT LIFE CYCLE

Like the traditional software development, the process of web site development

can also be divided into different life cycle steps. This can help to format the team

effectively, and the standards and procedures can be adopted to achieve maximum

    quality.

    STEPS INVOLVED:

    1. ANALYSIS :

Once a customer is started discussing his requirements, the team gets into it,

towards the preliminary requirement analysis. As the web site is going to be a part

of system, it needs a complete analysis as, how the web site or the web based

application is going to help the present system and how the site is going to help thebusiness. Moreover the analysis should cover all aspects especially on how the web

site is going to join the existing system. The first important thing is finding the

targeted audience. Then, all the present hardware, software, people and data should

be considered during the time of analysis.

For example, if a company is in need of a web site to have its human resources

details online, the analysis team may try to utilize the existing data about theemployees from the present database . The analysis should be done in the way, that

it may not be too time consuming or with very less informative.

  • 8/7/2019 job Recruitement1(synopsis)

    6/22

The team should be able to come up with the complete cost-benefit analysis and as

the plan for the project will be an output of analysis, it should be realistic. To

achieve this, the analyst should consult the designers, developers and testers to

come up with a realistic plan.

    INPUT :

Interviews with the clients, Mails and supporting documents by the client,

Discussions Notes, Online chats, recorded telephone conversations, Model

    sites/applications etc.,

    OUTPUT :

    1.Work plan, 2. Cost involved, 3. Team requirements, 4. Hardware-software

requirements, 5. Supporting documents, 6. The approval

    2. SPECIFICATION BUILDING :

Preliminary specifications are drawn up by covering up each and every elements

    of the requirements.

For example, if the product is a web site then the module of the site including

general layout, site navigation and dynamic parts of the sites should be included in

the specifications. Larger projects will require future levels of consultation to

assess additional business and technical requirements. After reviewing and

approving the preliminary document, a written proposal is prepared, outlining the

scope of the project including responsibilities, timelines and costs.

    INPUT :

    7/22

    Reports from the analysis team.

    OUTPUT :

Complete requirements specifications to the individuals & the

    customer/customers representative

    3. DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT :

After building the specification, work on the web site is scheduled upon receipt of

the signed proposal, a deposit, and written content materials and graphics you wish

to include. Here normally the layouts and navigation will be designed as a

    prototype.

Some customers may be interested only in a full functional prototype. In this case

we need to show them the interactivity of the application or site. But in most of the

cases customers may beinterested in viewing two or three design with all images

    and navigation.

There can be a lot of suggestions and changes from the customers side, and all the

changes should be frozen before moving into the next phase.

The revisions could be redisplayed via the web for the customers to view. As

needed, customers comments, feedback and approvals can be communicated by

email, fax and telephone. Throughout the design phase the team should develop

test plan and procedures for quality assurance.

It is necessary to obtain client approval on design and project plans. In parallel the

Database team will sit and understand the requirements and develop the database

with all the data structures and sample data will also be prepared.

    INPUT :

    Requirement specification

    OUTPUT :

Site design with templates, Images and prototype.

    4. CONTENT WRITING :

This phase is necessary mainly for the web sites. There are professional content

developers who can write industry specific and relevant content for the site.

Content writers to add their text can utilize the design templates. The grammatical

and spelling check should be over in this phase

    INPUT :

    Designed template

    OUTPUT :

    Site with formatted content.

    5. CODING :

Now its programmers turn to add his code without disturbing the design. Unlike

traditional design the developers must know the interface and the code should not

disturb the look and feel of the site or application. So the developer should

understand the design and navigation. If the site is dynamic then the code should

utilize the template. The developer may need to develop some graphics button

when ever the developer is in need, especially while using some form buttons

when ever the developer is in need, especially while using some form buttons.

Coding team should generate necessary testing plans as well as technical

documentation. For example Java users can use JavaDoc to develop their

documents to understand their code flow

    INPUT :

The site with forms and requirement specifications

    OUTPUT :

Database driven functions with the site, Coding documents.

    6. TESTING :

Unlike software, web based applications need intensive testing as the applications

will always function as multi-user system with bandwidth limitations. Some of the

testing which should be done are, Integration testing, Stress testing, Scalability

testing, Load testing, Resolution testing & cross-browser compatibility testing.

Both automated testing and manual testing should be done without fail. For

example its needed to test fast loading graphics and to calculate their loading time,

as they are very important for any web site. There are certain testing tools as well

as some online testing tools which can help tester to test their applications. For

example ASP developers can use Microsofts Web Application Test Tool to test

the ASP application, which is a free tool available from the Microsoft site to

    download.

    INPUT :

The site Requirement specification, supporting documents, technical specification

    and technical documents.

    10/22

    OUTPUT :

Completed application/site, testing reports, error logs, frequent interaction with the

    developers and designers.

    7. PROMOTION :

This phase is applicable only for web site. Promotions needs preparation of Meta

tags, constant analysis and submitting the URL to the search engines and

directories. The site promotion is normally an ongoing process as the strategies of

search engine may change quite often. Submitting a sites URLs once in 2 month

can be an ideal submission policy. If the customer is willing, then paid click and

paid submissions can also be done with additional cost.

    INPUT :

Site with content, Client mails mentioning the competitors.

    OUTPUT :

Site submission with necessary Meta tag preparation.

    8. MAINTENANCE & UPDATING :

Web sites will need quite frequent updations to keep them very fresh. In that case

we need to do analysis again, & all the other life cycle steps will repeat. Bug fixes

can be done during the time of maintenance. Once your web site is operational,

ongoing promotion, technical maintenance, content management & updating, site

visit activity reports, staff training & mentioning is needed on a regular basis

depend on the complexity of your website & the needs within your organization.

    INPUT :

    Site/Application, content/functions to be updated,re-Analysis reports

    OUTPUT :

Updated applications, supporting documents to other life cycle steps & teams.

    SOFTWARE TOOLS

    FRONT-END USED-ASP.NET

ASP.NET is Microsofts server side scripting technology that enables

scripts(embedded in web pages) to be executed by an Internet server.

    How Does ASP.NET Works ?

When a browser requests an HTML file, the server returns the file.

When a browser requests an ASP.NET file, IIS passes the request to theASP.NET engine on the server.

The ASP.NET engine reads the file, line by line, and executes the scripts in

    the file.

    Why use ASP.NET ?

    Better languagesupports :

yUses the ADO.NET for database connectivity

    ySupports full Visual Basic syntax

    Programmable controls :

yASP.NET contains a large set of HTML controls. Almost all HTML element

on a page can be defined as ASP.NET control objects that can be controlled

    by scripts.

  • 8/7/2019 job Recruitement1(synopsis)

    14/22

yASP.NET also contains a new set of object oriented input controls, like

programmable list boxes and validation controls.

yA new data grid control supports sorting, data paging, and everything you

    expect from a dataset control.

    Event-driven programming :

yAll ASP.NET objects on a Web page can expose events that can be

    processed by ASP.NET code.

    y

Load, Click and Change events handled by code makes coding muchsimpler and much better organized.

    Increased performance- Compiled code :

yThe first request for an ASP.NET page on the server will compile the

ASP.NET code & keep a cached copy in memory. The result of this is

    greatly increased performance.

    Easy Configuration & Deployment :

yConfiguration of ASP.NET is done with plain text files. Configuration files

can be uploaded or changed while the application is running. No need to

    restart the server.

    SCOPE

Online job recruitment sites have revolutionized the recruitment landscape for both

employer & job seeker and largely increased the efficiency with which hiring

decisions can take place. Employers and job seekers have widely benefited from

online recruitment and today, online recruitment forms the central pillar of a smart

staffing strategy for firms in every economics sector.

It is undeniable that the movement of many online recruitment functions and job

search research has vastly expanded the scope, accessibility, ease and efficiency of

the recruitment process. This innovation will be far more effective than current

industry recruitment solutions and pose less risk to both the candidates and clients.

Apart from increasing the caliber of candidates within the Recruitment Industry,

recruitment agencies will have the choice to select candidates directly from job

recruitment sites at a lese4r costs of current industry recruitment arrangements.

Traditional recruitment is being decimated and is likely to stay that way until

something (any sector)start a turn around. Only the best and most effective ones

    will survive.

Online recruiting will not grow any bigger than it is now because the return on

investments is not good enough for most cash-strapped organizations to support

    either.

This is probably the best time to be in online recruitment industry. With layoffs

happening, THE companies will think about reorganizing and restructuring, but

with tight budgets, they will look at the most cost effective solution. Needless to

  • 8/7/2019 job Recruitement1(synopsis)

    22/22

say, the best cost effective solution at this point in time is online recruitment

    systems.

Every problem throw up a challenge & it is upon to seize the opportunity hidden in

the challenge. We need to be more aggressive than before to hunt these companies

down and drill them to the benefit of using online recruitment over traditional

    recruitment solutions.
