It is recounted in both our first reading, from Acts, as well as the Gospel passage, from Matthew. It must have been an extraordi- nary thing to witness. But the first reading tells us that the apos- tles were not permitted to simply bask in the moment for very long. “While they were looking intently at the sky as he was going, suddenly two men dressed in white garments stood beside them. They said, 'Men of Galilee, why are you standing there looking at the sky?'” In other words, “Don’t just stand there, do something!” This verse is a call to each one of us Christian stewards this very day. We have been given every grace and blessing through the Mass and all of the sacraments, through the Word of God, the rich teachings of our faith, and even our talents and our material pos- sessions. And like those first apostles, we are not meant to just stand here, but to do something with these gifts — in love and gratitude to the One Who gave them to us. We are called, just as much as the first apostles “to be [His] witnesses… to the ends of the earth,” not with our own power, but through the power of the Holy Spirit in us. Please join the many people who are praying with The Holy Father’s Monthly intention for May: For Deacons: We pray that deacons, faithful in their service to the Word and the poor, may be an invigoration symbol for the entire Church.

‘I am with you always’ ..Allow these words to register in your

mind and in your heart. Perhaps ask the Lord to strengthen your faith and trust in him. In what way have you felt Jesus’ presence during the pandemic? Turn to him, and pray for all those still struggling and suffering. Ask him to be with his Church and with all his people all over the world. End your prayer with a slow Our Father ...

Last week we received: Adult Envelopes $ 6,247.60 Children/Youth $ 00 Auto- deposits $ 4,084.00 Total $ 10,331.60

Average amount needed to meet weekly operation of Holy Rosary

is: $14,653.84

“I am praying for them…” (John 17:9)

Prayer is the foundation of our

Faith and the foundation of Stewardship. Pray in good times and in bad. Prayer is always the first best option in any situation, not just the last resort. Pray for friends and family and for those

that don’t treat you very well. Pray to give praise, to thank,

and to ask God for help. Pray to see what God wants you to do with the gifts He has given you.
