YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Valley's near double digit unemployment figureswere evident on thursday at the annual Penn-Ohio Interstate Job.

The areas largest job fair attracted hundreds to the Covelli Centre.

In the crowd of job-seekers, the primary goal for most was just the opportunity toget back to work and earn a paycheck.

Sevens months after losing her job with a company after 20 years, Beulah Pageis putting her resume in as many hands as possible, hoping for a newopportunity. "A new start, a fresh start, so somewhere in here is my job", saidPage.

Dustin Rubosky has been job hunting since he was laid off from a good job inCleveland nine months ago. "Part time or full time, I've been looking. Anything topay the bills", Robosky said.

Ohio One Stop says for a growing number of people the problem is under-employment. Spokesperson Mary Ann Kochalko says, "We find a lot of peoplewho have either run out of unemployment and take a part time job or just take a

In today's job market, employment experts say job seekers need to think aboutwhat they can do to make themselves more employable. Bert Cene is Director ofthe Mahoning-Columbiana Job Training Association, "People need to continue tolook at enhancing their skill levels, because there's a lot of competition out theretoday."

More than 70 employers and two dozen job training providers took part in thisyears Ohio-Penn Job Expo.
